A stunning snapshot in time. The Artemis II crew captured this breathtaking photo of our galaxy, the Milky Way. The Milky Way’s elegant spiral structure is dominated by just two arms wrapping off the ends of a central bar of stars. Spanning more than 100,000 light-years, Earth is located along one of the galaxy’s spiral arms, about halfway from the center. Credit: NASA.

The answer to the last question is clear: it can’t. I’m not aware of any example in history where the “business community” ever prevented authoritarianism or a tyranny.

Last night, I shot a 60fps 1-minute phone video through my 10“ f/5 Dob with a 13mm Nagler and Paracorr. Here’s a short snippet of it.
One can see Io and Europa „leading“ it, blinking in and out.
It was a bit windy at times but seeing was ok. I hope to process it today.

🤦🏿♂️Actually, nevermind.
Why is everything like this?
The author supposedly went on an anti-woke, right-wing podcast to promote the movie while trashing other books and movies that do have a "woke" message or that have inclusive representation? But... why?
Why was that necessary?

The data in deleted files is not necessarily immediately erased. There are tools which might be able to restore. But it depends on operating system, type of drive and type of format of the partition. Eg on Mac I‘ve used CardRaider to recover photos a few times.

The most insane one on this list is Kenya, which saw a +18 improvement from 2013. If you know anything about Kenya that's a pretty wild shift.

Well, it's been a busy day prepping for my upcoming appearance in Westminster👇. The chocolate is all gone. This thread contains evidenced statistics to support the continued (not cut) funding for UK particle, astro and nuclear physics (PPAN). Thanks to everyone who contributed today! 🧵

A somewhat blurry image of Jupiter. However the cloud bands and Great Red Spot are clearly visible, and some festoons are hinted at.
This was shot with an old Logitech C270, with the lens removed and the cam stuck into a 1.25” T-piece of pipe, which fits into the focuser after some filing.
However this was more an exercise in repurposing equipment that I already had. Modern much better planetary cams start at $150…

Does anyone have a recommendation for an Android TV dongle that is 1) not vendor locked, 2) can be powered by a TV usb without data loss, 3) can work entirely offline, 4) with CEC, and 5) preferably 4K?
The use case is mainly streaming over LAN, with no internet access.
