Introducing WP Composer as a WPackagist Replacement WP Composer is a community-owned, open source Composer repository for WordPress plugins and themes — built by Roots as a WPackagist replacement.

Ben and the @roots.io team are always picking up WordPress’s slack and this is no exception. Thanks for your tireless work, y’all.

And if YOU haven’t tried Roots’ tools yet, do it now!

Iceberg A beautiful, flexible writing editor for crafting posts and pages with the WordPress block editor

Closest thing I recall seeing is something that was abandoned: useiceberg.com

There might be some old classic editor plugins that do what you want, but they ain’t pretty

If you’re bundling Composer dependencies in your WordPress plugin, you need to namespace them. You’re setting up your users for conflicts with other plugins if you don’t implement proper namespacing.

Some @woocommerce.com extensions do it wrong — read how @yoast.com does it right

ZeroPoint - A corporate-free website starter project - Get ZeroPoint

Don't call it a relaunch.

ZeroPoint helps you create "marketing" style websites without a monolithic (and increasingly corporate) CMS like WordPress.

Focused on DX, version control, and native web technology, you get: an @11ty.dev base, a CMS, and a new "blocks" system.

Check it

It's 2025 and you still need a plugin in order to upload SVG files to a WordPress site... and the plugin (safe-svg) used to be fairly minimal, but now it includes a shitty block

Sunsetting wp-password-bcrypt with WordPress 6.8 With WordPress 6.8 adopting bcrypt for password hashing, `wp-password-bcrypt` is now obsolete.

WordPress 6.8 is bringing native bcrypt password hashing, which means our wp-password-bcrypt package is no longer needed. We're officially sunsetting it:
