First day back at Queen's Park! Families and educators came ready to rally and fight for public education. The underfunding of our public education system, cuts to special education in our schools, and prolonged delays and uncertainty within the Ontario Autism Program (OAP) are harming our kids.

Joined my colleagues for part of their northern highway safety tour to shed a light on the roads conditions up north. This is a chance to raise awareness, but also to talk to communities, families and impacted individuals so that we can continue to bring forward solutions to keep people safe.
My thanks to the volunteers and staff at the Blue Door Soup Kitchen for letting my co-op student Jasmine and I join you for the morning. It was a pleasure to work alongside you, and to learn more about the work being done to help Sudburians stay fed.

We have written to Minister Jones about the funding that was promised for a HART Hub in Sudbury. This funding was promised over a year ago, and we need answers from the Government about when this funding is actually coming and how it will be implemented to support our community.
Went for a tour of the Carpenters Union Local 2486 Training Centre.
They are a huge part of preparing workers for important careers in the skilled trades and training the next generation of workers to build the critical infrastructure and housing that Northern Ontario and our province needs.

January marks Crime Stoppers Month! I was glad to be able to connect with many of the groups working to make our neighbourhoods safer, and to hear directly from law enfocement and constituents about how we can enhace public safety, prevent crime, and support the community.
We wrote to the Minister of Health this week about the impact that the closing of the LifeLabs laboratory would have on our community.
We are greatly concerned about the closure of the the LifeLabs laboratory here in Sudbury. We continue to urge the Premier and Minister of Health to intervene so Sudbury’s LifeLabs laboratory does not shutter this spring as planned.
The next few days are going to fun! Giulia, my *amazing* OLIP Intern, will be in town to experience Sudbury firsthand and in person!

Great afternoon touring the LiUNA Local 493 training center! The center does incredible work training our northern workers, and they're always ready and looking for people who want a job with better pay, benefits and a pension. They pride themselves on professional training- "show up and pro up"!
