These people need to get out of positions of power.

BREAKING: Donald Trump just boosted Democrats’ chances of taking the House.

He said the quiet part out loud, “fair elections” means he loses power.

That’s not a warning, that’s a confession.

Love how Rep. Pramila Jayapal let Vought have it. 🔥

88 corporations, including Tesla, paid zero taxes.
Americans pay 14.5%.
Healthcare getting more expensive.
Defense failing audits.

And he wants to talk about “fraud.” She was ready.

A reminder, as Obama and Mamdani come together for the first time in person, that Mamdani is everything the GOP said Obama was... but wasn't: an African-born socialist Muslim.

I don’t think Swalwell will work again

Yes, in DC. Especially on Capitol Hill.

I mean, a lot of doctors are talking about it on social media, even more so in the last couple weeks when his post have gotten more insane. They’ve all concluded that he has dementia and it’s pretty obvious to anybody with critical thinking skills. Glad you’re raising this important topic.

Only Vance and the cabinet can invoke the 25th. The House votes to impeach. The Senate votes to convict and remove.

I wonder if she encourages the Epstein victims to testify so that the Republicans can control which Epstein victims testify…

Did Congress appropriate funds for this?

I wish I had such a resource when my kids were little. Your leadership is amazing!

That’s fair. I’m all for doing whatever to end this nightmare.

I agree with you. However, democracy is not corroded by the rules being followed in the House and Senate. It is corroded by the Republicans, who were in the majority in both Houses not doing their jobs for our country and the American people.

Actually, they’re very much rules on the legislative process in the House & Senate. And they are not going to do away with them. I worked there & I know this.

Having worked in the House and the Senate, it is my experience that members of Congress ignore phone calls and letters from folks who are not their constituents. I’m not saying don’t call other representatives and Senators that who are not your representatives, but I would expect little effect.

It is only the majority that can bring bills to the floor for a vote like for impeachment and then conviction and removal. In the House of Representatives, a member of Congress not the speaker can bring something to the floor for a vote if they have 118 signatures on a discharge petition.

Aside from filing a discharge petition signed by 118 Members of the House to bring articles of impeachment to the floor for a vote, the ball is in Johnson and then Thune’s court. It sucks.

Jeffries can’t put impeachment on the floor. Only the majority leader, the Speaker of the House, who is currently Mike Johnson, can do that.

This is the second post from a representative calling for Republicans to invoke the 25th amendment: Only the vice president and cabinet can invoke the 25th amendment. It’s the house that impeach in the Senate that convicts and removes. 🙄

Only the vice president and Cab can invoke the 25th amendment. The House can impeach by a simple majority and the Senate can vote to convict and remove with 60 votes.

My problem with the 25th is that within 21 days, 2/3 of the House & Senate would have to vote in favor of removal. For impeachment & removal, the House has to vote by a simple majority meaning that one more vote to impeach would allow to pass. The Senate would still have to have 60 votes to remove.

I’m aware. One would think his latest threats of genocide would trigger some sense in them to put their politics aside to protect the country and the world from him. There is mounting pressure in Congress and even from the right. I hope it will work (but don’t have expectation that it will).

It’s time for Johnson and then Thune to do the right thing and step up

2 weeks ago 2 0 2 0

That he has not been removed, esp with his latest posts is beyond me.

Yes. I posted similar. It was weird timing among all of the rumors, I thought.

Would impeachment in conviction, actually be faster and more successful? It only requires a simple majority vote of the house & 2/3 of the Senate. If the president contest his removal by the 25th amendment, Congress has 21 days to vote on a plan for his removal and it requires 2/3 of both houses.
