Overall, I feel pretty good with how I did on the exam. Not only was it a chance for me to close the gap I had around some N5 topics, but it gave me a good chance to see where I am in my Japanese studies.
I think I'm going to make this an annual thing, as it gives me a good goal to shoot for.

Oh man, it's been a bit since I was last on here.
One big thing that's happened since was this past weekend I took the N4 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (the second level up, with N5 being beginner and N1 being expert).
Well, it's finally happened. After playing Umamusume for almost 3 weeks now and vibing to the music quite a lot, my brain finally went "hey, you should do a cover of that song." So here I am at 11:30pm writing out trumpet parts for a new (short) cover, lol.
Oh, I forgot I also have Rice Shower as well. That said, last night luck was finally with me! ๐
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SHE'S FINALLY HERE!!!!!!!!
For the life of me, I can't seem to pull Mihono Bourbon or Mejiro McQueen to save my life! I did manage to get Oguri Cap and Maruzenski, though, so I've been running with them for a bit.
Oh man! I can't wait!
It's never easy to say goodbye to a pet, especially one that was your very first. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to this stubborn, crotchety, opinionated old lady tonight, an absolute fighter until the very end of her 16.5 years.
We will miss you very much, Bobbin.

New year, new instrument! I've long wanted a flugelhorn so I could have a darker contrasting sound to my trumpet, so I finally took the jump! Can't wait to start learning it! It's not too different from temper so it shouldn't take long to pick up.
*deep breath*
WE'RE GOING TO SEE FUBUKI LIVE IN FEB!!!!!!!
I'm so excited! Our first time traveling internationally, our first time traveling to Japan, and now our first time getting to see a big Hololive concert live in Japan!!! I cannot wait until Feb!!!
Love seeing Vtubers that are into aviation! As an avgeek myself, I love seeing Vtubers doing flight sim and other aviation-related stuff. Here's to all you sim pilots (and even real pilots) out there!
Nothing irritates me more when debugging a race condition than being unable to find the cause (partly because it relies on code that isn't my own and I can't really view) and be forced to just artificially delay the code I need to "win" the race. I hate it so much.
Various Hololive merch items purchased by a coworker who was on a trip to Japan, including several items from the new Hololive pop up store in Tokyo Station. The items are arranged neatly around the shopping bag from the Tokyo Station store.
Really great Hololive haul, courtesy of my coworker! Looking forward to finding even more when we go in Feb!
Times Square is very appealing right now.
Just got handed a bag of Holo merch from my coworker who just got back from Japan! ๐ญ She's the best! Got stuff from both the Holo pop up shop in Tokyo Station as well as the AmiAmi shop in Akihabara! Will post photos later.

Turn everything back off again. Open the drain valve a bit to let out some of the hot water and relieve some of the pressure inside the boiler. Turn it all back on again.
It's been a couple hours now with no further issues. Learned more about heating systems today than I expected to.
Turn it all back on. No further overflow on the cold water line.
5 min later, I hear water hitting the floor again. No overflow on the cold water line. Hot water line BEHIND the boiler is now dropping water...
For some unknown reason, whoever installed this thing positioned the cold water overflow to be DIRECTLY ABOVE THE BOILER WATER PUMP ELECTRICAL SWITCH! Turned it all off and adjusted the pressure back down to stop the water.
Post sleep, I wake up and turn on the heaters again to test for any further leaking. Drain valve shows no sign of leaks.
5 min later, the cold water overflow pipe begins dropping water, indicating that I turned on the water pressure too high into the boiler.
Landlord arrived at 10:30 this morning and completely replaced the leaking valve. I can finally get some sleep without worry of my office. ๐ด๐ด๐ด
Boiler for the baseboard heaters started slowly leaking from the system drain valve in such a way that I can't stop it (crack around the valve shaft). I'm now awake at 3am babysitting this thing with rotating buckets to keep from flooding my office space. I'm so tired. ๐ซ

From what I hear, Denver is tough to get in and out of during the best times of the year. Can't imagine flying in there during the winter.
so long, greyiara...you'll be missed o7

Thanks! We're super excited for our first trip to Japan! Hopefully the first of many!
