Try to clear a dandelion field by whacking them with a club, and you’ll only spread them in all directions, into the future. Hatred, violence and war are like that.
Dandelions tell us the soil is imbalanced, hardened and lacks nutrients. “Extermination“ does nothing to transform the ecosystem.
The best way to reduce the number of countries with a nuclear weapon is to refrain from actions that make other countries believe they need a nuclear weapon.
When either side kills the children, takes the homes, or threatens the other's civilization, it gives war another breath.
“Famine and widening food insecurity are the foreseeable consequences of military aggression in the Gulf. That reality ought to weigh heavily on a world that has largely understood this war through the narrow lens of oil-price instability.“
Dear Media:
Blindly quoting the President without fact-checking or context is just misinformation with a press pass.

Shiller's measure of long-term price-earnings ratio suggests stocks are overvalued, at least in historical terms. CAPE is now at levels last seen during the 2000 dot-com bubble
It is easy to believe hatred, war, and violence are born whole. In truth, where hate exists, it’s because seeds like fear, wrong views, division, perceptions of injustice, have been fed, cultivated. Seeing that, we see better what to do and not to do.
If I am at Defcon 1 and you are at Defcon 1, de-escalation is a path, not an event. We see that this is because that is - each side has fears, resentments, injustices motivating them. When we admit that “they” also suffer we can gradually step toward actions that defuse conflict.
The top part of the Moon is illuminated. The gray cratered surface stands out against the blackness of space. The Earth appears in the far distance as an upside-down crescent moon shape. There is some lens flare in the top part and center of the image. Credit: NASA

Little boy in settlement near Nairobi. A dollar a day, their greatest wealth the corrugated tin they call home. They speak English, French, Dutch, after centuries of colonialism and resource extraction. To see that our wealth is made from their poverty is the beginning of wisdom.

See the chart below for a clear explanation of why we are asking you to CALL YOUR SENATORS to tell them to VOTE NO on SAVE
This simply could not be more urgent. It knocks hundreds of thousands off voter rolls. The SAVE Act may be the most undemocratic legislation in the history of this country
so, this is nice 🐳

it's also a metaphor 😉
Sometimes people say the math in my market comments can have a learning curve to it.
You're not alone.
Pulled this weed from the garden yesterday - Curly Dock - crazy difficult to dig out.
Good or bad, the seeds we water are the seeds that grow, even by unintentionally failing to notice they’ve taken root. The worst leaders are those that intentionally sow and cultivate only the weeds in us.
Current market valuations. With more compression, we may find some short-term "roses in the garbage" - see the February comment - but safety nets remain essential in all cases. A market crash is nothing but risk-aversion meeting a market that's not priced to tolerate risk.
"If you want peace, peace is with you immediately"
- Thich Nhat Hanh
If we have no peace in ourselves, it will be impossible to create peace in the world.
We need enough stability and insight to see that this is, because that is, and this is not, because that is not.
