I don't expect this will get any answers, but any experiences from midwives who have done an MRes? Bonus points if it's directly after qualifying.

@jillianw.bsky.social yaaaaay girlie I found you on blue sky! I missed seeing your updates over on the evil bird app. I've been thinking of you, hope you've been well x
My poor husband has had two decades of me telling him about this book and now I am actually reading it to him! I can't remember anything about the plot so we are in for a very wild ride π¬

And not only that but it was also adapted into a film made in 1988 which also looks VERY SCARY π§΅
Not only is it a book, but apparently there was a black and white TV series made in 1972 and it looks TERRIFYING π§΅
Today I did my usual search for it and I BLOODY WELL FOUND IT π§΅
I really started to doubt myself. It had been nearly thirty years and this book never came up in anything or anywhere I searched for it. A lot of the books my great aunts had sent were too unread and unloved for a space on a library shelf. Perhaps it had been a small print run. I almost gave up. π§΅
Sometimes something similar would come along. I watched a film called Slumberland (the Jason Momoa one) with an increasing sense of eerie bafflement, pointing to it and saying to my husband "this is almost it!" π§΅
Every year or so I'd remember it and search online for it. It became my white whale - no matter how hard I looked I couldn't find it. A book about a girl who fell asleep and ended up in another reality π§΅
You see, I was able to find most of them again, in the intervening thirty odd years. It became a lot easier as online second hand bookstores became a thing. But there was always one I could never find π§΅
When I was seven and a bookworm, we moved house. All my books - mostly weird, out-of-print ex library books sent by my spinster great aunts, were lost in the move. Today something incredible happened... π§΅
Hello sweet Jenny β€οΈ how are you?
A woman sat in the front seat of a car. She has blue grey eyes and a rainbow coloured cardigan. She is smiling.
