Hrm. I work for people who work for scammers, really.
Where do I fit in?

Gawd - I had forgotten MST3K found it.
Seriously, this film has existed in my head for YEARS as being simply something I saw at 3AM as a sleepless teenager watching whatever dumb crap was on the TV and going '...this is... actually... happening?'

(good chripes, anyone else ever saw this thing? I had concluded it was a fever dream of watching UHF TV when I was in my teens at stupid o'clock in the morning.)

The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies - Wikipedia

Honestly? A terrible movie can be enjoyed as its own thing. I think there is no shame in that.
And well, Freddy Vs. Jason has NOTHING on this masterpiece of so-bad-it's-kinda-awesome film-

Somehow I missed this until now.
Yay, I'm valid, even if I'm actually a felon! :D

On further reflection- I take a moment riding the bike to work to enjoy the scenery, just before I turn into the parking lot. So I spent a good 30 seconds of my life, every workday, staring at four brothers knobs.

but 'Four Brothers Knobs' sounds suspiciously like the title of a gay porn video, to me.

So observation from earlier that I shared elsewhere, but still is cracking me up hours later on recollection:
the tallest mountain peak within about 2 miles of my home bears the name 'Four Brothers Knobs'.
There are other peaks in the area that are named Blahdeblah Knob - but (con't in comments)

OK, take two.

I dunno. I'm just so used to a format that seems coherent that bsky (like Twitter before it) is an imposing hurdle just by the nature of being what it is.

Amusing as I find it, it's intriguing that Grimes' social media profile doesn't include this post at all.

roughly 22.6 lies per diem. I added a day because there was likely a leap year in those 4 years - otherwise it's 33000 lies / 1460 days.

This may be an indictment of the R&RHoF rather than the Beatles.

Hey, @gavinnewsom.bsky.social, maybe put the mic down for a day and do this instead.

The thing is, Parasite was the first one that *really hit* for him - so the expectation Hollywood has is that everything he does will *really hit*, of course.

It's a real foundational album for me- his other work less so, though there's some real gems in it.

Truly an amazing album- seriously not one song on it that feels wanting, or feels like filler.

Instead, they focused on the B-story of the whole arc of the comic's arc, which was intended as misdirection in the original. It was nicely done, but... yeah, Constantine looks much more like a bastard in the original. :)

Had they stuck to the original storyline - Constantine would've been selling his soul off to various demons for small piddling things until finally Lucifer had to keep him from dying of lung cancer to keep hell from going to war over his soul.
Then, John lit up a smoke.
And fin.

All I can hear in my mind's ear is this: 'I was... NICE, today. To those BLOATED SACKS OF MIDICLORIANS!'

1 year ago 0 0 0 0

I had my objections to it - mostly that Constantine is depicted as something other than a completely-amoral self-serving bastard the way they altered the storyline.
Overall, though, it wasn't a *bad* film.

Contrary to what Musk seems to think, the motto of the US government is not 'movere cursim et conteram omnia'.

I doubt RFK can actually see any clues from where he's standing. Let alone clues about a segment of the population he pretty apparently avidly distances himself from.

An important point to keep in mind.

That IS a valid point.

The... way the writer talks about Red Hulk's shirtless form, well, I dunno. I'm pretty sure I've read less homoerotic same-sex pornography.

I'm reminded of picking up the Xteenth anniversary DVD issue of Repo Man and realizing I'd never seen it but on a much-viewed (so many times I could quote most of it) VHS tape recorded off a somewhat dodgy UHF channel: the movie seemed so different on the DVD!
