I will waste no time reminding everyone that the President has again proposed an extinction-level budget for NASA.
47% cut to science.
And even though Congress sets budgets, NASA will---like last year---start planning as though this were the real budget.
Stupid. Pointless. Destructive. Insulting.
Drop down! Increase speed! Reverse direction!
Turn them into tissues! That'll teach 'em.
Not with THAT attitude!
... which is to say, about 140,000 miles from Earth.

The President's Budget Request proposes a 47% cut to NASA Science, a 55% cut to NSF, and a 13% cut to the DOE Office of Science. AAS President Dr. Dara Norman sent a call to action to AAS members via email today. Urge your members of Congress to reject these cuts now! aas.org/reject-2027-...
Ima go with 2001: a space odyssey with Chewie as the voice of HAL
but not without protection! Yikes!
Oooof...
The "P" in DPS is for "Planetary!"
Yeah, feels weird to me to. But no regrets about skipping it given their shenanigans.
Pallasites don't come from Pallas
"Fruit Basket Stand" would be a good name for a protest folk band.
It IS kinda weird that licking envelopes is normal. There’s not that many things that you can lick in public and deliver to some random person without societal pushback.
Overwintering Baby Lemon Tree very pretty
And the Overwintering Baby Lemon flower is sweet.
But the fruit of the Overwintering Baby Lemon
Is impossible to eat.
Gross.
I would submit that he's even worse. And hasn't hit bottom yet.
😭
So I think the best option at this point is to continue to deliver the program for the youth, show that we welcome them all at the local level (even if National won't back us up), and to model the values we want them to share.
I've been involved as a youth and an adult for some 18 years altogether at this point. I've taken on... more volunteer roles than is probably wise. It's tempting to just walk away at this point, but a lot of youth will suffer if we do that.
What about a Scout is Brave for standing up to injustice? A Scout is Kind by including everyone. A Scout is Courteous by treating every individual with respect?
A Scout is Loyal and Obedient, yes, but not to just anyone. A Scout is loyal to their country; not to some cabinet secretary. A Scout is Obedient to the law, but not to some random whim.
This decision violates the Oath, the Law, and just about every other principle.
I understand the pressure not to maintain a relationship with DoD with Jamboree coming up, but I strongly feel this is the wrong move. Besides the unjustified changes being imposed on the program now, when you give into a bully, it just invites them to come back for more.
I've been trying to gather my thoughts all afternoon and try to come up with a coherent response. I am beyond disappointed that BSA National leadership has decided to capitulate to these demands from the Defense Department (I'll not use the alternative name).
TBH, I had that BEFORE the current meshugas. It's sort of my default state.
Bruh.
Get back to work. You aren’t being paid to believe in the power of your dreams.
After I check this shit out, how long before I need to return the shit to the shit library? And do I need a shit library card?
