Anti-trans voices are becoming ever louder and are threatening feminist solidarity.
How can we strengthen feminist & queer solidarity & create a vibrant & inclusive feminist movement?
This conversation with @uglastefania.bsky.social from @transisland.is & others is still very relevant

Reyn og Irma, forseti og ritari TÍ, mættu í Morgunútvarpið og spjölluðu um J.K. Rowling, en hún hefur á undanförnum árum nýtt áhrif sín og auðævi, sem hún hefur þénað á Harry Potter, til að styðja við hópa og aðgerðir sem hafa það að markmiði að grafa undan réttindum trans fólks. 👇🏳⚧
Mæli með Le Poblana 🌿
Congratulations to the International Olympics Committee for banning like one trans woman from competing at the next Olympics, I guess. Great job.
It has been six years since the Gender Autonomy Act was passed in Iceland. In those six years, none of the usual fears that anti-trans advocates warn against have manifested - and trans people, non-binary people and intersex people have enjoyed increased rights and protections.
Still laughing at people complaining Trans Day of Visibility was on Easter Sunday in 2024, as if it was a deliberate move from the trans community. Good times.
In true tradwife fashion I foraged some wild garlic and made pesto 🌿

Já, hún ætti að vera fín - og það er líka vinnubók með ef hán fílar svoleiðis, Trans Survival Workbook :)
Excited to have been voted on the board of the oldest women’s organisation in Iceland yesterday, Kvenréttindafélag Íslands. I am proud of the feminist and queer solidarity we’ve fostered for the past decades - showing that bigotry cannot divide us. Onwards and upwards ✊🫶
someone: "i don't want to share a changing room with a man"
me, a trans woman: "yeah me neither, why do you think i transitioned"
them:
me:
them:
me: "anyway, now that we got that out of the way"
This is exactly that anti-trans "activists" are about - harassing and intimidating women. The fact this is occurring on International Women's Day really is the cherry on top here, showing there is little that drives them but misogyny and bullying.
translúxusríkisborgararétturinn
ætli hann geti sýnt mér hvað þessar meðferðir eiga sér stað? er að spurja fyrir vin? 👀
Og hvað? Ætlar Kaþólska kirkjan þá til dæmis að fara að grýta konur til dauða sem halda framhjá? Svona fyrst það er í Biblíunni?
Kirkjan þarf að fara að landslögum hvort sem honum líkar það betur eða verr.
maybe Gavin should take his own advice
Oh, nice! Lovely to see you here 😄
Come visit Iceland during bolludagur and you will find them in every bakery and café!
It makes me laugh someone was sleuthing and thinking they’re so smart by finally getting me, when they are in fact just an idiot who doesn’t know how anything works. The addition of actually complimenting my writing skills in English was the cherry on top.
When an article gets escalated like that the newspaper has to respond, not the comment piece writer, because the newspaper is responsible for publishing it. I didn’t even know this was going on, and it was dismissed anyway since it was clearly an opinion piece
I still think about that one time years ago when some losers online accused me of having a ghostwriter for my articles because:
a) my english couldn’t possibly be that good
b) because once an article I wrote was reported by some terfs and the newspaper and editor had to give responses
Imagine hating me and I’m just at home making sweet buns for Icelandic Bun Day (bolludagur)
Says the person who created a biased, flawed and unethical report that’s being weaponised against children’s acess to life-saving and important care. Take some accountability, for once.
A reminder: there is no such thing as “too many” people being trans.
