Got to talk at @aidotengineer.bsky.social conf last week about the need for collaborative AI engineering.

All our current coding agents are single player. We're trying to scale up individual productivity, but creating tons of alignment problems in the process.

We have no good tools for...

Orphan, Shadow, and Zombie APIs Why do we use such complicated terminology when referring to API states?

"APIs that go rogue are almost impossible to tame. While managing the APIs you already know can sometimes be challenging, imagine the difficulty of controlling the ones you don't even know exist."

Don't let your API become a zombie. Planning for its sunset from day one is essential to avoid resource drains and security risks.

- Bruno Pedro Cloudflare’s CLI is generated from a product schema

"we needed more than could be expressed in an OpenAPI schema. OpenAPI schemas describe REST APIs, but we have interactive CLI commands that involve multiple actions"

"Agent Auth attempts to make agent authorization fully autonomous. By shifting to a protocol-driven identity model, this approach allows agents to prove their identity and obtain scoped permissions programmatically."

"The Agentic Authorization OAuth 2.1 Extension is an IETF draft created in May 2025. It’s now in its version 01 and provides a solution where AI agents can identify their users and, in turn, use their identification to obtain OAuth access tokens."

Exposing Workflows as API Operations Any workflow can be available as an API operation.

"A workflow that can't be executed remotely feels like a loss of potential. I mean, you can still trigger it manually, or even execute it periodically. However, there's no way for it to receive programmatic requests from the outside world."

WSO2 OpenAPI to MCP, Runway $10M Fund, Trivy API Key Leak The API Changelog issue 2026.14

"APIs are no longer just passive data pipes, but active, auditable, and intelligent frameworks that bridge the gap between human intent and machine execution."

Thanks to @jentic.bsky.social for their support, helping keep an independent API publication alive.

I'm working on an article on the hypothesis that API AX (agentic experience) is the only type of experience that covers the full AARRR funnel. DX enables Acquisition and Activation. API UX enables Retention and Referral. AX enables all those steps of the funnel, plus the final one: Revenue.

The Rise of Metered APIs Stop charging for access and start charging for value.

"The days of the API subscription model are numbered. From a producer, trying to make a fixed payment cover the dynamic costs of managing an API doesn’t make sense. And, from a consumer, paying to access a set amount of API requests feels illogical."
