Anyone else obsessed with Space key shortcuts for utilities like I am?

Ah, Madoka Magica, and the memories of waiting forever to watch the final episode because the TV broadcast schedule was interrupted by the 3/11 earthquake.
Looking at the Mystify screensaver in Windows 3.1, I thought, “Hey, that’s two polygons with its points bouncing off the edges. I could do that with SVG paths.” So, I did. I vibe-coded the animation as a Web Component with settings saved in the URL hash. Have fun with it!
I’m a frontend developer now but I wore so many hats in my 30 years of web development that I’m still helping out the backend team.
Now I want to build a cyberdeck.
Every time I get back into Genshin, they have a new region map to unlock. 😅

Milla Jovovich is secretly a programmer, it seems.
Once I was told I looked like her when I did this makeup and hairstyle. That’s cool.
But just to reassure you, we are not the same person.
Well here’s a new kind of shrinkflation… My usual bag of Myprotein chocolate whey protein went up in price and they made the cup in it smaller. I guess to make you think you get a full cup still, but with less, so the bag lasts longer? (Second photo for comparison not mine.)
Yup. Another iOS update, another locked up device. My iPhone 16 Pro Max crashed and had to be restored from backup after 26.2, 26.3, and again now after 26.4. Third time wasn't the charm. iOS updates just aren't trustworthy anymore.
I had no problem with CSS letter-spacing animations before, but noticed it stopped working and thought I made a regression. But nope, turns out animating that property is broken in Safari 26.3 (but fixed in 26.4) on all Apple platforms.

There was an earthquake with the epicentre nearby. I’m fine.
Any extreme interactive CSS demo.
Iosevka or nothing.
I think this is the most dense world in any Super Mario game with the highest number of double-exit levels.
Wanted to update my server’s OpenSSH to v10, but was on Ubuntu 20, so… updated to Ubuntu 22 tonight (before I do 24 then 26 later). Also meant I had to scale my VPS RAM from 512 MB to 1 GB, and double the storage to 50 GB. Had a small hiccup with nginx Lua module, but went well!
life support*
ffs. That’s what I get for posting at midnight.
Some train and subway station ticket gates nowadays are stacking up bulky adapters to read paper tickets, IC cards, credit cards, and QR codes, like an old Sega Genesis on love support with a Sega CD and 32X.
Thank you, kind Japanese stranger, for seeing I couldn’t locate the port to which I had to return my rented bike, and tell me how to find it, tucked hidden in some parking lot behind a building on the other side of a fence. RPG mini quest vibe right there.
nom 🍰
Somehow one of my credit cards had my name correctly written on it, but the issuer had my given name as my family name and vice versa. I didn’t bother correcting it until I saw there were points on it worth 20,000 JPY waiting for me. Yup, that got fixed now! Free money!
Whoa, I thought this would never happen, but it seems there's enough raspberry pi and other arm64 Linux users that we're getting official Chrome on linux/arm64! issues.chromium.org/issues/37481...
I love @storybook.js.org. Here’s my recent littlest contribution to reduce some console verbosity regarding favicons. 😅🤏 github.com/storybookjs/...
Welp, I’ve been reminded that Raycast for Windows exists now. It wasn’t so good the last time I tried, I remember. But this time, it has all the best features from Raycast for Mac, including screenshots and clipboard history. Nice! www.raycast.com/windows
There’s also PowerToys Run. A bit lacking but it’s the only one that can use to the Win key.
