Thank you.

When I politely disagreed with my Onc (she said my symptoms were not chemo related, when in fact they were) she went ballistic. There was no option for me to get a 2nd opinion. I was not able to travel to another hospital. It made treatment difficult.

#Cansky don’t allow somebody to minimize your cancer diagnosis. No matter what stage, grade, type, etc., until somebody has set in a chair and told they have cancer. They have no room to speak.

I think what some don’t realize post cancer diagnosis or treatment is while physical the battle might be over or β€œstopped,”…..

The mental for some is just beginning. Living your life in 3-6 month intervals waiting for scans and bloodwork is miserable.

I find it difficult to let go of the fear of my cancer returning. Having to monitor new symptoms in case they are significant, dealing everyday with late effects & after effectsof chemo.

I don't know. She might be on a social media break. I haven't seen her around for ages. She's so good at holding the cancer community together.

So much this:
"The task now β€” clinically, scientifically, and morally β€” is to ensure that the extra time gained does not resemble the fate of Tithonus. That it is time with meaning, time with mobility, time with dignity. Time that is lived, not merely survived."

A Greek myth explains the biggest challenge facing oncologists like me Oncologists could learn from the Greek myth of Tithonus.

"#Cancer remains one of the main determinants of healthspan, not just lifespan. And while treatments have improved dramatically, the long-term consequences β€” #cardiotoxicity, #neuropathy, 2nd #cancers, #metabolic disruption β€” threaten the very longevity pts hope to gain." #CanSky #CancerBS

A cup of coffee, peace and quiet, breathing exercises and then reading a book. It helps me destress and forget about the world. Focusing on an enjoyable book takes my mind off my own problems too. It's a chance to switch off briefly.

They are fab! I hope making them helped you switch off a bit from chemo.

It really is. I'm so sorry for your loss.

This is so important. People often don't realise how tough it is for the caregiver too.
