Three years on
I shared this when I was overwhelmed by interview requests while trying to keep my family safe
We stayed through the shelling & blackouts but had to leave with my elderly parents & 3 teenagers when we could no longer find drinking water

Other areas of Khartoum (like our neighborhood) still lack power and water and basic services.
(The RSF completely destroyed Khartoum power and water supply during their occupation, in addition to the large scale looting)

🇬🇧 “The world has to start listening,” declared UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper at the Munich Security Conference, as Sudan spirals deeper into humanitarian catastrophe. When asked whether the UK was using any of its leverage with close ally the UAE to halt widely reported support for the Rapid Support Forces — accused of genocide and mass ethnic cleansing massacres in Darfur — she refused to single the country out. The UK, like the US, has consistently avoided publicly blaming the UAE, including after the October 2025 massacre in El-Fasher, when, according to the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab, up to 100,000 residents were reportedly killed in a matter of weeks. Earlier, Cooper also dismissed reports that the UAE had used British-made weaponry to arm Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF) as “unfounded.” She then criticized a "collective global failure" to protect civilians in Sudan and highlighted the UK's pledge of £20 million to support survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.

At least 200 cases of rape & sexual attacks have been reported since RSF seized Elfasher but the true figure may be much higher.
