🥺 I still can’t believe they had cleared her to go back to her alf w home health. I felt like there was no other option than hospice but there are always what ifs. she never opened her eyes after the first night there & was unconscious already when her dog came 😭 but she held on til this morning.

it sure is. the place was absolutely wonderful & she was never uncomfortable. I scrambled up there earlier than planned when she stopped opening her eyes. I never got to talk to her again. some family flew in for the weekend. she went peacefully this morning while we were in the room. what a journey

the answers to my physical therapy intake questionnaire might get me put in the psych ward lol. is there a place to say take this with a grain of salt bc I put my mom in hospice yesterday

thank you 🥺 her old caretaker who took one of her dogs is stopping by tmrw & I hope her other dog can make it too. I wish I could see the reunion. there is no doubt it’s better than being here, away from her old life. she may be out of it, but it seemed like the idea was bringing her comfort.

thank you. this sucks so much, but I know she is in the right place. just have to take everything one day at a time.

🫂 this all came together so quickly that I did not even follow them. the emt & driver were so lovely though. she’s all settled in, had multiple visitors, & I’m hoping things are relatively stable until I plan to get up there in a few days. such a surreal time.

well. I booked a private ambulance to take my mom to hospice back in her hometown tomorrow. I guess this is really happening.

thank you 🫶🏼 the hospice nurse was just lovely & weirdly enough, her mom also died of leptomeningeal disease. I just hate the thought of moving her to multiple places at this point, but who knows how long it’s going to take.
it’s so hard. lifting h20 hurts my back & I dropped 5lbs like *that*

I hope you are right. women are so fucking angry. I learned very young that the world is not kind & feel like I’m failing at shielding my own kid from the heavy shit rn.

she is halfway to vegetable state already. healthcare in this country is fucking cruel

we did a virtual call (only good for 48hrs) w a hospice nurse yesterday & she said she absolutely qualifies but the place she wants to go (the only wish she ever expressed to me ~1yr ago) is acute care & if she doesn’t pass in 1-2 weeks we will have to move her to a different facility???

& if this trend continues where I am feeling worse by the minute I’m not even going to be allowed on the premises. cool cool how do I fucking navigate this shit when I am literally falling apart myself

tomorrow I have to do some combo of either repealing my mom’s discharge from rehab, finding a long term care facility, facilitating another hospice evaluation, securing an ambulance transport to said hospice across the state, or organizing 24/7 care in her apt. she’s slated for discharge on tuesday

can’t stop thinking about these while I am trying to raise a 4yo & shepherd my mother to her death in this dumpster fire of a country. bonus points for the excruciating back pain, finally succumbing to the toddler’s cold, & the rescue wasting 2hrs I did not have today for a meet that never happened

all 4 bedrooms upstairs were connected like a horseshoe, & cj’s current room was not accessible from the hall. you had to either go through the guest room or circle around through the former nursery/our closet. never seen anything like it before lol
