Someone will always say "It's just a tool! When used appropriately its revolutionary!"
Yes, and so is morphine, when used appropriately by professionals. But we don't stick morphine dispensers in every home and carry one in our pockets, do we?
I must have misinterpreted the "just like". What she was saying is that exposure to language is enough. However this does not mean the internal mechanisms are the same. But the wording was ambiguous.
But do you really think they learn and use language just like humans do?
I wouldn't agree that they learn language just like humans do though. This is part of why their power requirements are so much greater.
Thank you for your courage to publicly address abusive language.
If one more app that I have been successfully using with no major complaints for at least a decade incorporates AI I will lose my shit
"But so far, many of Trump’s most aggressive moves have ended in defeat" with a couple tiny exceptions, such as when SCOTUS granted him complete immunity for his insurrection where the plan was to kill members of Congress before they could certify the election.
Yea I teach a non honors intro class so the reception would be a little different.
yea yea I know, but no matter how sound the argument is, I think about what it sounds like.
This stuff is so easy that we can bang them out in our spare time. Or it's a good project for an advanced undergrad.
The hard part is to decide which ones are actually useful so the collection can be curated
These demos are really cool although sometimes they end up looking so gimmicky (at least the ones I make) that the lesson gets lost in the glitz. It also makes it difficult to tell the students that they shouldn't use AI when writing their assignments.
A nationwide warrant has been issued in the first criminal charges against an ICE agent for on-duty actions during the enforcement surge in Minnesota.
ok so it is doing spike extraction, nice. I wonder if it's missing some, or if the visualization just looks different because of the scale.
The original graph seems to have a clearer band of spikes though. Is this a spike by spike recreation?
Come to a brewery to night, have a cold one, and talk ai with Bhuv Jain and yours truly. AI is awesome and it also sucks. Let’s talk about it. ai.upenn.edu/ai-us-featur...
Carl Bergstrom presenting his research. The slide on the screen says "Science is perhaps the greatest human invention."
inspo for all
generation lead never fails
Swalwell has resigned from congress too.
What exactly is suspicious about the timing? It is very typical for survivors to speak out when their abuser is going up for a position of power.
I would buy 3 of these.
It's not just "a report by journalists". These women have come forth publicly. You're altering the facts to fit your narrative.
Which is why the standard of "proof" is much lower. We're just talking about whether he should be a congressman, not whether he belongs in jail (yet)
This is also not a trial.
Who is being convicted of anything here?
Tradition is what holds us together. Since March 2, WCK has served 1 million+ meals to families displaced by conflict in Lebanon. This Easter, we prepared maamoul—cookies filled with dates—because preserving the customs that define a community isn't a luxury. It's a lifeline. #ChefsForMidEast
Yes, we had to invent a formal specification to connect human thought to the hardware of a computer in a sufficiently precise way that a given line of code always means exactly the same sequence of register instructions in the CPU (assuming the compiler and hardware are also the same).
Perhaps, but going back to the top of this thread, there's never going to be a free lunch on offer. The bottlenecks, in terms of training and evaluation will always exist.
Sure but that's not the dream of LLM coding, which is that you can just express yourself however you want and it just works
