That’s basically it! Nothing super complicated you just decide what kind of dreads your character has, not just visually but "anatomically" too. :)

Check out movie refs:
1 — Scar Predator: straighter, stiffer dreads, they sit flat on the shoulders. Heavier and denser, they're not flying around like in a Head & Shoulders ad.
2 — The Fugitive Predator: much more flexible dreads.
Way more freedom in how they fall and flow.

I drew two quick examples to show this. Meet Nazara, today he’s trying out different hairstyles.

What I mean is this: say you want to draw believable dreads (great goal!) but to really make them work, you need to decide what kind of dreads your character has. That affects how they sit on the shoulders, how they move in the wind, etc.

When drawing, don’t just think, "What do I want the final result to look like?," also think, "What is this thing actually made of?"
