Watching stuff like Prometheus, Pacific Rim, Rango, Wall•E, Edge of Tomorrow, Ex Machina, Interstellar. Not all perfect, but they just look fuckin great. We really hit a sweet spot and didn’t even know it.

Been going through a lot of 2010s sci fi lately. And that 2005-2015 point really feels like the CGI pinnacle where movies were using it not because it was cheaper but because it really let them go as big as possible.
