Hi Joseph, I co-host The Indypendent News Hour on WBAI-99.5 FM Tuesdays 5-6 pm. We would like to have you on the show this week to talk about your Brooklyn Navy Yard article. Please DM me or email contact@indypendent.org if you are interested. If so, I can provide more details about how it works.

My look at the interconnected military, political, economic and diplomatic dimensions of this conflict which is shaping up to be an epic defeat for U.S. global power whether Trump decides to launch a ground war or go full TACO.

I wrote the cover story for the April Indy about the Iran War & the end of American Empire. One reader replied to the article, writing "It is spot-on, very terse, very comprehensive—a nutrient-filled Red Pill for those who need to get up to speed on this Trump/Netanyahu war of choice." Link below!
I got to meet Palestinian student leader Mahmoud Khalil at last night's Brooklyn for Peace annual gala. Mahmoud has endured so much hate and repression for demanding an end to the Gaza genocide. His ability to meet the moment with clarity and courage should be an inspiration for all of us.
Very honored to be in that room with good people celebrating 25 years of The Indy
We celebrated 25 years of The Indy Tuesday night. I accepted on behalf of The Indy a proclamation from NYC Councilmember Alexa Aviles. (Left to right) Looking on are State Sen. Kristen Gonzalez, Cuomo whistleblower Lindsey Boylan and State Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest. Photo: Geve Penn
This month's issue of The Indypendent commemorates 25 years of "a free paper for free people" that has become a New York City institution. It's been quite a ride!
Whatever you think of gun-loving right-wing demagogue Charlie Kirk who was shot today in Utah, this is bad news. This vigilanteism further opens the Pandora's box of political violence and over time no public figure will be safe – right, left or center.

I spoke yesterday w/@petersterne.com of @cityandstateny.bsky.social about the latest in the mayoral race as Zohran Mamdani revs up his field operation, Andrew Cuomo warns of prostitution run amok and Democratic Party leaders fail to accept the surge in support for Palestine among their own voters.
I love this photo, but first you have to click on the full image.
All hail the People's Republic of Bushwick!
Our reporter @elsiecarson.bsky.social spoke w/voters in the most leftwing neighborhood in city the after they voted overwhelmingly for Zohran Mamdani. These young, college-educated renters have reshaped NYC's political map.
Zohran Mamdani's campaign resumed door-to-door canvassing across the city today with an eye toward reaching voters who were not eligible to vote in the Dem primary. About 100 volunteers gathered at Prospect Park before leaving to talk w/voters in the nearby Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood.
Welcome to incel hell.
The beautiful cover image from our new issue that hit the streets yesterday.
Let's see how the doxxers and their enablers like being spotlighted.
Here's 20 minutes of me dishing the latest tea on the NYC mayoral race with Scott Harris @wpkn.bsky.social and @btlradionews.bsky.social. As a radio show host myself on WBAI-99.5 FM, I learned a lot from going on the air with Scott. He's a real pro!
Hundreds of people with disabilities protested in the streets of NYC on Saturday to mark the 35th Anniversary of the American Disability Act. Emotions were high as they demanded no cuts to services, no cuts to Medicaid and to protect and enforce the ADA. Photos: Chae Kihn/The Indypendent
I'll appear on @wpkn.bsky.social tonight from about 8:30-8:50 to talk about Zohran Mamdani's historic primary upset, the huge role played by @socialists.nyc and the many challenges that lie ahead. WPKN's signal covers most of Connecticut + parts of Long Island. Streaming: wpkn.org
From the Democracy Now studio.
The Indy's Nicholas Powers:
"Zohran saw us, and through him, we saw ourselves. We are stronger than racism. We are better than homophobia. We sacrifice ourselves to save each other’s lives. We did during 9/11, Hurricane Sandy and Covid. We do it every day."

The mood on the street.
We hit the streets over the weekend with our post-election special edition which focuses on the mass movement of everyday New Yorkers who powered Zohran's historic defeat of Andrew Cuomo and the Democratic Party establishment.
I'll be discussing Zohran Mamdani's historic NYC mayoral primary victory on this week's edition of Law & Disorder Radio. The show airs on WBAI-99.5 FM Mondays at 11am and over the course of the week on more than 150 radio stations across the country.

I appeared on Democracy Now twice in the week leading up to the June 24 primary to talk about the NYC mayor's race, ranked choice voting and why Zohran Mamdani was rapidly graining ground on Andrew Cuomo. Good times!

I'm so glad I cancelled my NYT subscription earlier this year. I can scan their front-page headlines to see what they are up to and look elsewhere if I need to catch up on the topic. I don't need to pay people to insult my intelligence.
We had a crew of Indy people handing out the paper at Saturday's including myself and fellow Indy editor Amba Guerguerian. It always feels great to get out from behind the screen and into the streets! Video: Sue Brisk
What's been done before can be done again.
After binge watching Zohran's "rent freeze" ad yesterday, I can't wait to see what his campaign cooks up for "fast and free" buses.
