This is my double-sided Downy Woodpecker collage installation! The image may look mirrored, but look a little closer and you'll find small differences between each side. This collage is able to hang from the ceiling and appear as if it's actually flying wherever it's installed 🪶 #birds #birdart

We need more days off for labor day because instead of sleeping and relaxing like I want to do, my sister and some friends are visiting, we're going to an arcade, skating a pump track, swimming in a river, going out dancing, and going out to see fireworks. 😮‍💨 I'm grateful but I'm tired

Yup. And then once you're done it's like "it turned out great, let's do it again!" Only to then feel your will to live leave your body when you're in the weeds of it 💀 and the cycle goes on

Currently in a hellish cycle where working out to treat chronic pain makes the pain worse because I'm at square one but the pain won't get better until I work out enough 🥹

Ishmael Williams is inspired by Hana Barbara cartoons, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro. He draws with confidence and never makes mistakes. He can whip out a whole comic page very quickly, so he has giant stacks of amazing hand drawn comics. I loved watching him work and he has a great personality too!

This collage was made during my recent residency with Visionaries + Voices, a Cincinnati art studio that assists and collaborates with disabled artists. This piece "Ishmael at Work" is a portrait of Ismael- someone I met whose comics I was immediately enamoured by.

My downy woodpecker collage is like 99% done! Just gotta add some final touches :3 next I'll be working on a mourning dove paper mosaic and some fun & easy 2-layer abstract collages ✂️

I'll be including it in my solo show in Cincinnati next month! :-)

Yes!!! Every town should have one!! Mine has some really nice stuff sold for way less than retail. They're such an amazing resource for artists
