Whether or not it's worth fixing is gonna depend on the bill. I'd ask for quotes from a good shop to swap the trans pressure sensor on your year, make, and model of car and make a decision based on that. Is the repair worth not having to find something new? It's a you question.

As a little aside too, 150k miles isn't crazy used anymore these days. Unless it was a POS from the factory, 150k is still pretty normal.

My concern personally would be if the sensor is just bunk, you've lost your indicator. It's like a tire without the pressure sensor or a bad oil pressure gauge. It's not BAD, but you won't get that alert if it actually turns BAD.

If the car still feels like it shifts smoothly through the gears, it may be just a sensor going bad. Depending on the car, a sensor can be a 30 minute job with a $50 sensor or a 3 hour job with a $200 sensor.
