A graphic reads “92% of participating ProPublica Guild members voted YES to authorize our bargaining committee to call for a strike.” The “92%” is very large. A ProPublica Guild logo is under the text.
1/ Today, we overwhelmingly voted to authorize a STRIKE as we fight for a fair contract with @propublica.org.

Ian Hunt-Isaak Xarray Community Developer Matt Iannucci Software Engineer As a distributed team (of weather and climate geeks), we love finding ways to connect. So when a nationwide winter storm rolle...
Snow storm has reminded me why we made this fun slackbot that lets us know who @earthmover.io it is snow for when. Super fun afternoon project! Matt and I also wrote up a quick blog about how it works wherein I learned a decent bit about working with weather data

James Watson, dead at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers
James Watson, the co-discoverer of the structure of DNA who died Thursday at 97, was a scientific legend and a pariah among his peers.
A Sharon Begley byline, almost 5 years after her death.
Upon hearing the news James Watson had died, a STAT reporter said in our Slack, "I wish I could read what Sharon would have written."
Incredible news: Sharon in fact did pre-write a Watson obit. And it is masterful and excoriating.

Can you elaborate a bit more? There is some integration today, but as we note in the post there are some deeper levels that could make things a lot smoother.
I would love to know more what is vs is not working for you! Happy to chat anytime

Actually by far the biggest lie here is the zusy number. If you exclude the $7110 she contributed herself, and also the $1000 from a real estate lawyer who listed a Cambridge PO box then they are giving a her break by undercalculting her percentage by 4x....

Ok I was slightly off. It is approx accurate in terms of total value. But their clearly off by at least a few percentage points
And if you exclude unions and donations without addresses then it's 56%

Quick scroll through ocpf for McGovern and this has to be a crazy lie to find 66%
Maybe if you count some of the union donations which come form Dorchester. But that's obviously disingenuous, which I guess is the point...

My first ever 311 was a request to fix a curb cut damaged by a snow plow. Seeing it fixed was very empowering and I can truly say was the thing that set me up to be much more involved in local politics

Breaking: The Handbasket is first to report catastrophic OMB funding memo
Posted on Bluesky earlier this evening, other major outlets have since confirmed.
“There’s still this idea that news is only ‘real’ once it’s confirmed by big corporate outlets. After all, could one woman with absolutely zero institutional backing in leggings and a sweatshirt in her NYC apartment really be the one to break such an important story? Now we know the answer is yes.”

Is there anywhere easy to see subway ridership on equivalent route? Like is this fewer people in Manhattan, or mode shift happening?

American fast food chains truly up their game when abroad. E.g. this pizza hut in Kolkata coming up with PIZZA CRUST STUFFED WITH MOMOS. The fusion I didn't know I wanted

My former landlord had his flaws , but it's forever to his credit that when I contacted after seeing his ad he stressed how I should not pay a broker, turned out to be pretty convincing to move into his place which was home for 5 years
