In response to some bullshit going around:
Can we please fucking destigmatize men being nice to / caring about / engaging with kids? These are normal adult mammal instincts; what's fucked up is that we beat them out of people based on gender and/or assume they're inherently predatory.

I'm sure that there are more productive things I could be doing with my Sunday afternoon, but I'm strongly considering just rearranging the DVD shelves in my closet and then start rereading Groo the Wanderer from the beginning on the couch...
I was intrigued by the trailer I saw for Dust Bunny, and even more so when I read that it was written and directed by Bryan Fuller, but even so I wasn't prepared for how much I would enjoy it. Watched it last night and LOVED it. Best to go in knowing as little as possible, but well worth your time.
Dust Bunny is on HBO Max and it’s super cute and Bryan Fuller deserved his directorial debut to be see widely. We talked about it a bit: www.avclub.com/bryan-fuller...

It’s probably just because I’m up too late and need sleep, but I can’t stop giggling at this
It's been just over ten years since @mikemignola.bsky.social and I first start talking about introducing "steampunk science guys" into the world of Hellboy, and I'm thrilled to be teaming up with the amazingly talented @christophermitten.bsky.social once again for their first solo outing!

I'm going to have to surrender my nerd credentials, because I made it halfway through that trailer waiting for Karl Urban to show up before I remembered that Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat were two different things...
Not sure what it says about me that I'm a middle aged guy and yet most of my favorite shows and movies available on Netflix end up in the "Watch Together for Older Kids" recommended list...
I was today year's old when I learned that the "Bible verse" that Jules recites in Pulp Fiction is actually a quote from the opening of a Sonny Chiba flick: www.filmbuffonline.com/FBOLNewsreel...
I do much of my collaboration with artists by email, threaded conversations that go on for months if not years under the same subject line, which results in some of the coolest stuff in my inbox arriving under headings like "Thoughts," "Something New," or "Is this still your best email?"
We've been working on this since January, but today's the day! We are now an official business sponsor of @hollywoodtheatre.org, and starting tonight our slide will be part of their preshow fun at every screening. Onward! #comics #community
A new comic from @schweizercomics.bsky.social is always a cause for celebration, but a fantasy adventure that you can read for free, right this very minute? What are you waiting for?!
I haven't been back to SDCC since before the pandemic, and even then I was only going every few years. There are things about the convention that I miss, especially the friends that I only saw there, but the good stuff was getting increasingly lost in the shuffle as time went on.
the craziest thing I've read all year is this theory that 2 "continents" that used to be on Theia are now buried deep under our feet

Sorry everyone, my wife asked me to delete the thread because it got too big. I'll let you know the next steps we take, if any. Fuck Target, Fuck Self Checkout, and Fuck AI though. We're exploring options with the lawyer.
I was today years old when I learned that many entries in the Fiend Folio I have on my shelf were written by Charles Stross (and the monsters in them his creations), who was still a teenager when the book was first published in 1979.

Comic lettering 101...
We watched the new Hulu original Pizza Movie over the weekend, and it was a lot of fun. Far better than it had any right to be, and I laughed out loud more often than I have at any movie in a while. Good dumb fun and well worth 100 minutes of your life.
And I’m happy to say that your purchases from our etsy store underwrite the Helioscope mentorship program, allowing us to pay a stipend to our mentees to work on their own projects. It’s been something we’ve wanted for years and we’re finally in a position to do it.
Simon is a fantastic letterer. If you've enjoyed THE HUNGER AND THE DUSK, you've been treated to some of his wonderful work. It's very scary that somebody who is this good at their job and well-liked in the industry is struggling to find gigs.
The cover of AMELIA SHADOWS AND THE NEW HEAD GHOST. By me.
BTW, if you mainly buy your kids graphic novels at a comic book shop, it looks like AMELIA SHADOWS AND THE NEW HEAD GHOST is going to hit a lot of the comic shop's shelves this Wednesday, April 15th. Just... you know... so you know.
Lovely more academic-minded thread about Absolute Wonder Woman. 🖤 [Beware of spoilers for the first volume].
I have a habit of getting into things (games, books, shows, movies) long after everyone else has moved on, leaving me perpetually out of step. Like, I got OBSESSED with the Dishonored games a few years ago, and replayed all three multiple times, but have yet to talk to anyone else who played them.
