Do they let you bank them, or is it use it or lose it?

Dude used a whole ass hay bale on all of those straw men.
Has anyone actually bought software on behalf of their company because a salesperson reached out on LinkedIn? Is this actually a viable thing people do, or are they just annoying?
This just reminds me of when they opted to do student loan forgiveness through one particular avenue, the Supreme Court said that wasn't allowed, and then the administration just threw their hands up and say "welp, we tried, guess we can't".
The problem's hardly ever the technology, it's the fact that we know the technology will be used in favor of those already in power, every single damn time.
As someone whose career has thus far not really needed much cyber security training/understanding I feel like all vulnerabilities I read about are either: "holy shit, I'd never do something like that" or "only a genius with incredible luck could have exploited this" and there is no in between.
Finding motivation to upskill after work is a nightmare sometimes. And it comes in massive waves where I'll make a ton of progress for a week and then none for a month. Absolutely frustrating.
I'm not sure why but I get the opposite vibes.
'string' giving strong bouba vibes honestly.
If it's a school project I could believe it, but normally the hard part of school projects isn't supposed to be the actual code written down rather learning the underlying concepts. Which would make rewriting the code overnight relatively easy.
Imposter syndrome hits the hardest at 2AM.
No such thing as a boring data race!
Was this AMC? The audio at ours was destroying our ears during Interstellar recently.
If you haven't had the opportunity to watch them live you absolutely should. I'm a big fan of their albums admittedly, but my partner isn't and I dragged her to one and even she was impressed by how good the concert was.
Yes, very true, this never happens at my very centralized employer.
Supervive is super enjoyable, hoping it has a bit more legs than Battlerite did.
Unfortunately it took too long, and all of Bluesky has already been signed up for the fundraiser texts
I only Need to say Three words and its possible:
Alf's Sensual Hog
I feel like it's a bit disingenuous for Bluesky to say that they don't train AI on your data without the VERY large caveat that literally anyone else can programmatically access your data if you upload it here. Artists/creators should still tread carefully.
We should just learn to share and take turns, reminiscent of dial-up where you were bound by the phone line.
verified.com domain owners sitting on a gold mine right now
BlueSky's discovery feed is very willing to show me posts/memes from groups of people that are talking about things I do not understand even a bit about and I honestly appreciate it. The algorithm hasn't figured out how dumb my brain is yet.
It's legitimately difficult not to like those photos, because my instinct is just "cute dog - click like", but I know I can't be promoting those posts.
Reading through BlueSky/AT Protocol docs to understand how this place works is a good reminder of just how bad l am the second something remotely looks like cryptography.
This is why I alias it to gdi.
Because god damn it, I can't remember what I was doing.
Awesome - thank you!
I'm curious (if you can answer) how are likes handled with the individual SQLite databases? Specifically the aggregation count. I'm assuming that the count is really just the sum of the events downstream from the firehose and my likes are only stored on my PDS, but is there something I'm missing?
Anyone have a link to a good starter pack for Software Dev? Looking to get my feed back to what it was on Twitter.
Big emphasis if it involves DB Internals/Distributed Systems/Rust but I find just about any topic interesting.
I wonder what the Venn Diagram of "tankies" and "people who like tanks" looks like.
Obligatory algorithm post since the vibes are too good on my feed:
- Software Engineering/Dev (Python/Rust/C++)
- Video games (TFT/League/Minecraft/Monster Hunter/Roguelikes)
- Esports
- Stocks/options
