"It's very painful!" The young goblin answers in a cheerful tone, seemingly unperturbed by the voice in their head.

"I flipped when I should've rolled. Right into a volley of arrows.

It's okay! My friends got away!"

There's actually a couple broken arrows sticking out of him...

"But you can have more rations and less rats if you eat them! Two problems solved!"

"Buy it from traders when we can! Miss Maiden ends up starving a lot of the time. Especially when she's cursed.

He rocks back and forth, still staring into the flames. His nose twitches as the fish starts to cook, and soon Hubie is drooling, eyes fixated on the+

"Okay, The Bishop! Bishop of what? One like Geraldine the Slippery?"

"None of them are any good at cooking! We're constantly running out of rations."

His ears flick back as he thinks.

"Why do you pour ale in your bread? Maybe that's what Keturah doesn't do. Last time it was her turn to cook, we lost two tents in the fire!"

"My insides are just fine, thank you very much!" Hubie grins.

"How do humans make that fluffy, grainy thing anyway? I like that the best!"

"Okay! Who are you?"

He still gives the crystal a curious lick.

He's made a replacement horn out of cedar and beeswax, but it only produces a sad hiss and explosion of sparkles when he blows on it.

Hubie's eyes grow wide as he beholds the shiny crystal. Reaching for it without a second thought

"Humans are weird. Your food usually tastes good, though."

(He returns about fifteen minutes later, holding a dozen rats by their tails.) Got them!

Oh! I can catch them!

(Running off to catch the rats)

"What do you do with the scales, if you don't eat them?"

Hubie sits on the ground and watches Brash attentively. He picks up a fin that was sliced off and pops it into his mouth.

I'm from the lower forest, under the Great Mountain.

All my neighbors are a bunch of fuddy-duddies too busy building their hat hordes to bother dropping in to say hello!

He strikes a pose, beaming with pride.

He returns with his damp hat held in his hands. Filled to bursting with multiple fish.

"I dunno! Looks like the yummy kind."

He empties his hat onto the ground and puts it back on his head as he watches the trout flop uselessly in the dirt.

(He tilts over her fallen form, examining the other goblin curiously.)

The young goblin sticks his tongue out in disgust.

I don't need anyone watching me! I want friends doing dangerous things WITH me!"
