March played games. Mostly digital this time with 1 Darwin’s, Flashpoint and Brass being in person. Clocktower was all in person as well with all those games being played on the JoCo Cruise. Oathsworn hit severe scheduling issues, but we’re back on track in April! #bgstats #botc #boardgames

While boardgames are certainly not the primary focus of JoCo, there’s enough going on for tabletop gamers to have a great time. The presentations were a big surprise and I’m hoping to see more boardgame designers on in the future!
Hey all. Back getting into the swing of things after JoCo Cruise @jococruise.bsky.social ! Had a great time. They have a big boardgame library and even hosted great sessions with @rericreuss.bsky.social (Spirit Island) and @connievdc.bsky.social (Wyrmspan). Learned a lot in each. #boardgames
Finally, we finished episode 2 of Flashpoint. I’ll be honest, the “legacy” aspects seem pretty tenuous so far (you name people, if a firefighter gets hurt, they skip a scenario), but maybe it’ll pick up as we progress. Episode 2 was tough and we just barely won through punishing dice rolls. 4/4
Darwin’s Journey is another longtime favorite. I got and brought Oceania with me, but with a new player and someone who hadn’t played in a while, we started with the base game instead. Hoping to try Oceania soon! 3/4
Brass Birmingham continues to be a classic game and I’m always happy to revisit it. Once you get straight the differences in coal, iron and beer, it’s very satisfying gameplay. Looking forward to Brass: Pittsburgh coming up! 2/4
Boardgames for the week! Brass Birmingham and Darwin’s Journey at game days and Flashpoint: Legacy of Flame for our legacy group (Oathsworn group on a break for scheduling conflicts). 1/4 #boardgames
February games. A mix of my campaign/legacy games, the heavy BGA games I play asynch, the light BGA games I play live once a week and then my game day in person games. #bgstats #boardgames
Thinky Dailies Now everyone can play! thinkygames.com/dailies The image shows all our thinky characters with puzzles floating over their heads.
Thinky Dailies is now available for everyone to play — no sign-in needed!
🧩 Every day, a new handcrafted puzzle with different rules.
📖 Catch up on the adventure so far before season 2 begins next week!

I was happy to finally table Origin Stories as well as I like trick takers. Origin Stories adds in the chaos of chargeable abilities and a simultaneous choice to max tricks or try to take 0. It was fun trying to get points while watching all our powers collide. Excited to get back to this again.
At game day I played Endeavor: Deep Sea (I now have done 9 of the scenarios) and Origin Stories, which was for the first time. Endeavor stays in my top games as it gives interesting decisions in a good time frame, and the scenarios help tweak each game to make it feel different. 1/2 #boardgames
Yes it is and has a very tight economy, so if you waste money on the wrong things, you end up frustrated looking at cards you can’t play.
I tell new players to tuck a money card for income to start and a 2nd card (of any type) before round 1 ends (orbit or 4 data). That helps with tight resources
Finally, the Oathsworn group has moved into Chapter 4, which gave us some exploration and refugee management. The rules for this were a bit unclear between chapters 3 & 4, but we forced our way through. We’ll play the fight next week.
Our legacy group started in on Flashpoint: Legacy of Flame. We played both prologue scenarios as none of us have experience with the regular game. Enjoyed the system so far and we’re looking forward to see what the legacy aspects add to it 2/3
Gaming for the week…
Taught SETI at game day to two first time players and one second timer. Left out the asynch agencies and quick start cards from the expansion, but kept new projects and aliens. That seemed to work well for a first game. No early confusing choices. 1/3

90-120 minutes? Earlier scenarios were even quicker. We also had 5 people.
The mechanics of it will never be a strong point and I know of at least two in our group who are happy to be done with it. For myself, I can forgive the mechanics to enjoy the rest of it and have a good time! (2/2)
And finished! We completed the final scenario in Betrayal: Legacy with a success. In all, we won 10 or the 13 scenarios. This remains a game where you have to love the exploration and the flavor of it. (1/2) #betrayallegacy #boardgames
Lower count coming out of the holidays and bad weather, but looking forward to more games played in February!
Grid of games played by me in January 2026
January games from #bgstats! Still having trouble getting the Legacy group together, but, barring a last minute issue, we’ll finish Betrayal tonight and move on to Flashpoint: Legacy of Flame. Also need more time to render an Oathsworn verdict. #boardgames
Worry a little the combats will get too repetitive without new abilities being added to our decks more often. Possibly unfounded as it went from (spoilers) boss with unlimited minions to boss that causes random actions that you have to adapt to. Still, looking forward to chapter 3! (2/2)
Hello all. Slow board gaming weekend here as I missed our game day. However, our legacy group did finally meet again and we got in our second Oathsworn combat (warning: 2nd boss mini spoiler in pictures). Still have enjoying it, but (1/2) #oathsworn #boardgames
Got my Darwin’s Journey Oceania expansion in! Only had the base game before, but now I have it all. Looking forward to trying this all out as soon as I manage to sort through it! #boardgames #darwinsjourney
Competitive.
SETI with Space Agencies hit again at game day. Still love this game and I think the expansion largely improves on the original. The new asymmetrical agencies add a lot of fun new abilities and setup changes. Not sure how I feel about the quick start cards yet. #boardgames #seti
Tiles laid out as part of the Endeavor: Deep Sea board game.
Player board, some specialist tiles and two journal cards for Endeavor: Deep Sea board game.
Endeavor: Deep Sea has been a popular addition to my collection. Opened and taught it for the first time last Monday and then played it 6 more times over the week. I enjoy the variety in the scenarios, and have even done two co-op games for a “cozy Endeavor” experience #boardgames #endeavordeepsea
2026 is looking to be the year of expansions. I’ve got expansions backed for:
Darwin’s Journey
Galactic Cruise
Endeavor: Deep Sea
Earth
Although I’m confident some new games I’ve never heard of will drop in and take over our group. Looking forward to a fun 2026!
Our Frosthaven group has started into Oathsworn which we are enjoying early. Betrayal group will be heading to Flashpoint: Legacy of Flame next (we enjoyed all the pandemic legacies, so we have high hopes). (2/x)
My 2025 gaming! My casual BGA group loves Space Base, so it continues to dominate. The other are a mix of in person and digital with friends. Finished both Ticket to Ride Legacy and Frosthaven this past year and are almost done with Betrayal Legacy… (1/x) #boardgames #bgstats
Holiday gaming (so far)! Got Endeavor Deep Sea for Christmas and it’s been popular with everyone who’s learned it. SETI expansion has been fun as well and adds some nice variety. Wyrmspan expansion continues to show its value also. #endeavordeepsea #boardgames #bgstats
