e.g. chromatin - both one set of DNA and two (pre- and post-replication). It just means 'unravelled DNA').

Chromatid - single piece of DNA that has just separated, but isn't quite got where it's going (tfen it magics into a chromosome).

Chromosome - one or two pieces of DNA?

Just a thought...

Chromosome, chromatin and chromatid are adjectives, not nouns...

We're preparing the name badges for the 10th Norwich Biosciences Institutes #accessiblescience event on Tuesday, expecting 250 people in the @johninnescentre.bsky.social conference centre including students from local schools (and their teachers including @dewhurst-ben.bsky.social )

Not a bad attempt at a kidney by AI. Glad I don't have one (or two), but I'm sure it'll get there eventually.

Side discussion in the @cerg.bsky.social symposium about misconceptions around pH (and how these can be perpetuated in the language we use) has given me an excuse to share the poster I produced with @andy.compoundchem.com when working @theeef.bsky.social

This is a work of genius by the brilliant Paula at @norfolkrs.bsky.social

(I mean it's a great newsletter, too - full of links to articles and other interesting stuff, but her intro and song challenge make it absolutely unmissable!)

The SAPS method.

We've had mixed success with getting them in to compost, but generally get them to stay growing in the agar nicely
