I was gifted a Yashica Minister 700 with a stuck shutter. Removed the front lens and dabbed the shutter blades with some lighter fluid. Voila, I got me a working camera for free.

It’s a bummer when cameras don’t work properly. I hope it’s a easy fix

My first TLR was the Yashica-C. Great camera and it’s still in my possession

I think it’s only minor problems with them. Someday I’ll fix them

I was in total panic mode. The tiny stickers from that old 17m roll of Agfapan 100 had disappeared. No matter how much I searched for them they were gone. Then after a couple of hours I found them. In the refrigerator. Now I have calmed down and everything is alright. I suppose I’m just getting old.

I got loads of expired film from an old photographer. Everything has been frozen since he bought it. It’s great fun to try them out

You can probably find a video on Youtube that can explain it better than I can. There are many variations of stainless reels. I think I got like 5 different ones

I’ve been rolling some of that old stuff. Did some testing and the film showed next to no signs of any aging. Gonna rate it at 100 and develop it in Diafine. Fingers crossed

Once you get it its easy. But it can take a while. But if you’re unsure, go with the plastic ones. Same same, but different

Ha ha I know what you mean. It took some time and lots of practice to get the feel for it. Now it’s my favorite

My 120 spool is far less trickier than the 135 one

That reel has a clip that locks the end of the film in place. After that it’s super simple to roll up the film

I got my from a friend. It was hard to focus and had a sticky shutter. But on those cameras it’s a fairly simple job to fix. So this is the first roll since I fixed it

I’m more of a masochist and find pleasure in old things breaking down on me. 🤣
