But Adam, he concealed this side of himself so completely before the election. Whoever could have guessed he’d be capable of something like this? /s

I really appreciate the fact that you are one of the commentators who mentions this consistently. It’s impossible to divorce his presidency from his personality, which is and always has been sadistic.

Turning my father's death into discipline With grief comes a ruthless clarity on what matters. And a chance to commit new love vows.

Since my father's death, I've been thinking about grief as a profound energy source-- of clarity, discipline, and commitment.

With romantic weddings, we make promises to love our spouse. We should also normalize making vows to honor those who have left.

I’m looking forward to continuing my streak since last January of going to my local liquor store and not even looking in the direction of the neighboring Target.

It’s tiring that we are increasingly stuck organizing our intellectual lives around arguing for the value of having an intellectual life

It’s beside the point of course, but like the Non Expedit threat in The Young Pope, is this going to help you as much as you think?

Unfortunately, Li’l Nazi is not nearly as precise a descriptor for me as it was 10 years ago so I’ll need to do some research here.

I’m not sure what the technology in question is, but these days, I avoid using the term AI unless I’m specifically talking about LLMs or GenAI. I use machine learning otherwise and in the off chance someone is talking about symbolic AI, I’ll say that.
