It rings the same to me as describing frame advantage as taking/losing a turn. Like I guess it works for onboarding a player to understanding these concepts at a basic level but you're leaving so much out I argue it does more harm than good.

And that's my issue. It's a very linear way to describe games that are inherently dynamic by their nature. A win condition for the player implies a fail state for the opponent. Assuming that were true (most of the time it's not) that also just kinda sounds like shit for a 1v1 game lmao.
