OK, Bluesky hive mind, your help is required here.
I *may* have a potential video call sometime this week which would basically be a call to ascertain whether the company want to properly interview me.
Should I still go for the smart suit and tie combo?
Sorry I was late, I had a sudden moment of ovine intervention...
Perfect 10 minute break with a cup of tea reading, this.
Ten years today since we lost Victoria.
Of all the deaths we had in 2016, two of them hit me hardest. This was the second one.
Last minute note in for #sts70s tonight, apologies! Hopefully back next week!
A model of the on screen clock used by TVS in the 2980s. The time shown is 12:18 and 16 seconds
Did I ever show you my home made version? Did it about 12 years ago, fragile as anything now but still working!
I think I may have "cheated" slightly here and done a Discogs purchase back in lockdown as it was on my "to find" list. But finding it in the wild would be awesome.
The sleeve of "Spring Has Sprung" by The Saucers, featuring Keith Chegwin and Maggie Philbin from the BBC TV programme Swap Shop on the cover.
Currently playing this banger.
Big Angus's dabs all over this, of course.
The tune also works well when used with the lyrics of "Roxanne" (thanks to ISIHAC)
Open All Hours (19th April 1984). "G-g-granville - fetch a cloth".

To this day, I still have to fight every muscle in my body to poke an eclair through the curtain of a photo booth if somebody is using it.
"Given some kind of structured post-nuclear society, do you think people are more likely, or less likely, to be eating Hellman's mayonnaise?" #TotallyBonaFido
It's a real shame the shopworker couldn't have held these "customers" to their tantrum and refused to serve them.
"I'll never fly $airline again!"
"Good, because $airline doesn't want insolent rude supercilious dregs of society like you barking petulantly at our staff when the problems are YOUR SODDING FAULT. Go away and have the life you deserve."
I'd be no good in public service, I really wouldn't!
Happy anniversary to you!
(coincidentally, another friend of mine who works for the BBC is also getting married today!)
A bowl of hotpot/scouse, with red cabbage and beetroot. A bread roll is next to it
Behold, the magnificence of the hot pot supper. With red cabbage AND beetroot. That's choices!

Definitely the Yorkshire TV clock that gave it away #StickItUpYourBum
Joking aside, the charity element is another reason I'm going, and given my neurodivergence (and Kit's recent autism diagnosis) I'm very pleased that this year's charity is one close to my haert.

Off to a charity quiz night in Childwall tonight.
(being totally honest, it will surprise you to learn that the main reason for me going is not so much the quizzing, but the promise of a "hot pot supper". I just hope red cabbage is offered as well...)
Freur's wonderfully atmospheric "Doot Doot" from 1983 will always remind me of this marvellous bit of video from the same year.

This has made me grin very much indeed :)
This is why I consider you a friend.
(as someone who twitches every time he watches "Kinky Boots" and sees they've used Wellingborough station for Northampton, I feel I would be in good watching company with you both)

Also, in absolute SCENES, a job I applied for last week has actually got back to me.
Even more remarkably, it's not a rejection email, it's a "please answer these questions about your right to work in UK and whether the salary is OK before we schedule the interviews"
I'm genuinely stunned.
The thanks and respect for poor beleaguered Bluesky devs will continue until the site is fixed, because it's horrible to be firefighting stuff on live when everyone's either cracking jokes or complaining about how shit things are...
*resists the urge to make the joke*
*continues to resist*
*tries his absolute best to maintain resistance*
*starts to crack*
*vein in head starts to pulsate*
*visible beads of sweat break out on forehead*
DUNNO MATE, IT'S ALL GREEK TO ME!
*falls in a heap on the floor, weeping "I'm sorry"*
"Wake up to what Pye is doing".
And yes, I'm still annoyed I never got one as a kid.
