We investigated the @hitop-system.bsky.social Brief Report (HiTOP-BR) in two German samples. Although there is room for improvement in certain areas, the HiTOP-BR provides a time-efficient and psychometrically acceptable assessment of the 6 HiTOP spectra. doi.org/10.31234/osf...

New paper out:
Some people are systematically better at judging others’ intelligence.
Who are the best judges? People WHO are intelligent themselves, have good emotion-perception ability, and who are high in well-being.

An important point! As we mention in our paper (p. 821), our sample is much more diverse and the observation period much longer than in typical RCTs. Therefore: "It remains unclear what changes might occur in this patient group without [active] treatment."

Thanks for the interesting perspective! Do you think this has any implications for measuring personality functioning? For example, if the construct is understood in terms of learned self-related competencies, it seems plausible to build on "Operationalized Skills Assessment": doi.org/10.1159/0002...

For me, it isn't about the results. It’s about solving methodological challenges in a way that leaves me reasonably satisfied. It’s about closing a long-standing chapter, while laying the groundwork for new questions. And it’s about the lasting bond this work creates with my co-authors.

But too often, construct validation practices fall short, leaving uncertainty about what our measures really capture.

Why is that?

New paper comparing latent dimensional, categorical, and hybrid models of internalizing psychopathology.
