This is one reason I have stuck with Godo when folks suggest switching to Etali. The window is a little harder to find, but when I find it, I just win. No RNG.

I've never turned off a Wrexham game and I won't start now.

But this is hard to watch.

I agree with this. And yet despite that success, it's not enough to bring me, a formerly highly entrenched player, back into the fold. I can't get excited for these wins when I'm also constantly reminded of Deadpool and pizza turtles and all the rest.

Thanks I've been trying to do better about it. Part of my work involves accessibility compliance, and I'm trying to apply that where I can outside of work too.

A large hole, about 6' by 3', surrounded by piles of red clay dirt in a grassy field. Me (a very tired looking bearded man with glasses and a pink baseball hat), stands more than waist deep in the hole, resting his hands at grounding level. A water bottle rests on one of the dirt piles, and metal detecting equipment sits in the grass behind the hole.

That's it for now! I hope you enjoyed a sneak peak into my hobby of searching for history left behind!

One of the most highly sought after base marks is a rare "US" base, identifying the Springfield Arsenal. I've dug many thousands of bullets over the years, and found only a single US base - until now. I happened to get lucky and uncover TWO more US base bullets! That was a really nice surprise!

Most Civil War bullets have either flat or conical base cavities, but some have unique base markings. The pit held several swage based bullets, a pinwheel pattern caused by manufacturing machine. It also had one star base bullet, identifying manufacture in the Washington arsenal.

I found several huts/trash pits over the hunt, but most didn't contain more than assorted iron nails, crumbling ration can, and discarded animal bones.

Late on the last day I did find a deep trash pit with a mass bullets, 34 in total. The powder most likely was wet, and they were thrown out.

A makeshift lead nipple protector fashioned from a three ring Minie ball. The top of the bullet has been cut off, and the bullet cavity bears the square impression of the rifle hammer.

One unique find is this makeshift rifle nipple protector. Typically brass, these protected the firing mechanism of a percussion rifle when not in use. Here a soldier used his ingenuity to fashion one from a discarded bullet, and the three rings of the Minie ball are still plainly obvious.

Different types of white lead civil war bullets stained with orange clay, and a quarter for size comparison. From left to right: 44 Colt Dragoon, 50 cal round ball, Sharps Carbine, 58 Minie Ball, Williams Cleaner, CS Gardner. Bottom: huge 69 caliber Minie ball.

Mostly my finds for the hunt were lead bullets of various types, from the "smaller" 44 Colt Dragoon pistol, up to the massive 69 caliber three ring Minie ball.

I also found assorted other relics - gun tools, a porcelain clothes button, and a broken whiskey bottle that I painstakingly repaired.

I recently returned from my biannual metal detecting trip searching the 1863-4 Union army winter encampments in Northern Virginia. Let's have a look!

That isn't just one and done tho. It's constant improvement, maintenance, expansion. And that takes resources. War never changes.

I have many thoughts about the turn order “problem” in tournament cEDH, but most of them boil down to get gud + it’s a feature not a bug 🤷‍♀️
