5/ This is the first study to link AD biomarkers and cognition using a fully multivariate, network-based approach - moving beyond single test scores to system-level change.
๐ฌ๐ง A powerful example of how network science can deepen our understanding of cognitive ageing and Alzheimerโs disease.
4/ In particular, semantic memory (how we process and store meaning) becomes more central in the network, suggesting a shift in how cognitive systems interact.
3/ the team found that people with high beta-amyloid donโt just show lower cognitive performance - their cognitive networks themselves are reorganised.
2/ Using data from 2,800 + participants, the study builds neuropsychological networks to ask: do cognitive systems reorganise in people who are positive for Alzheimerโs biomarkers?

Awards like this are a reminder that great psychology doesnโt happen without great support and weโre incredibly proud to see that excellence recognised at a national level ๐
This recognition highlights the often behind-the-scenes expertise that makes high-quality teaching and research possible. Andreiโs work exemplifies the excellence, dedication and care that technical staff bring to supporting students and colleagues every day ๐ฌ๐
