Lovely catch up Helen and great choice from Steve for a coffee and chat. Lots of love to you and the family and will look forward to the next time 😊 X

I’m really glad you thought to get a photo, I left it too late again 😄

I wish there would be some light regulation to leave a little space between new developments?
People complain kids don’t play outside then build on the places we all played on when we were kids.

After seeing the fields out back being trashed we went out and cleared space for wildflowers in a small coppice in front of our house.
All the more important now since fences went up, hedges were ripped out and topsoil was dug up on the fields behind us.

Yesterday the earthmovers moved in to rip up the top soil on the back fields from us. Shame for all of the wildlife that was dependant on foraging or lived there.
We had just over 20 years of amazing views but people need houses and developers £££ beats wildlife.

There needs to be a word for a person who breaks into houses to steal cats?

I tried prescribing The Fall a few years ago and Mr. Pharmacist went down well quite appropriately. Not so much luck with The Cure. He likes DSMD though which was a nice surprise 😊

Thank you Gavin, I didn’t want to make a fuss over Easter but we might have to stage some sort of family intervention over the summer 😆

Thought I’d been hacked and checked, someone had used my card to buy an Aja, Steely Dan documentary. Turns out it was the youngest. Kind of wish I’d just been hacked and he wasn’t a fan of Steely Dan 😉😆😆

Record Store Day this Saturday, which reminds me of the Half Man Half Biscuit song of the same name, containing the magnificent line "Oh I do like to re-release my b-sides..."

I dunno if "Make Landlords Furious Again" would fit on a cap, but if it did, come the next GE I'd want one of those.

2001: A Space Odyssey, the monolith on the moon excavated and brightly lit as astronauts approach

Watched 2001: A Space Odyssey this week - for obvious reasons I guess - so now Artemis II is over can we look forward to discovering the monolith on the Moon?

It’s totally wrong to criticise anyone for their appearance in any way whatsoever.

But also, how come Jared Isaacman couldn’t hear Artemis II astronauts mid-comms blackouts with those ears?

Madness. Hard to believe anyone can preach that BS in 2026 and not get dropped by anyone who ever listened to a word that they said?!
Always said and fully believe that it’s a kind of abuse to tell young children to put their hands together and pray before they can rationalise what it means.

True enough. I read that just over 30% of people globally tend towards authoritarianism and it’d be easy to presume that’s the base. Although slightly more complex of course?

If you think VAR is bad now just imagine what AI VAR might bring. Manager furiously typing to ChatGPT…

Yeah that totally takes the "social" out of social media and way too many people get sucked in and start to believe there is real intelligence involved, or worse develop an emotional connection?

Agreed and in many ways it's *possibly* a good thing that people turn away but the enshittification is endless! Cory Doctorow's book on the subject is brilliant, and then while reading I noticed that the apps I'd paid to watch TV with no ads were serving me "coming up soon" ads instead 🙄

Projection above DJ and light flooding over crowd below at Birmingham’s House of God

I didn’t get to House of God this year but this popped up from 2024 and I think it captures a lot of that feeling. What a line up every single time too👌

I’d see the older ones there back in the day and be impressed but these days that would be me 😄
