Ever so glad a few people got to go on a multi-billion $ ride, meanwhile here on Earth...

Kudos to you! Haven't made it to Sicily from the UK but have taken the train as far as Pompeii.

Remember, whatever else is going on, it is absolutely essential you get on a plane going *somewhere*
BBC radio news just now reports the deaths of 3 US soldiers and 9 Israeli citizens, as well as two oil tankers being hit. No mention at all of the 150 Iranian children killed by a US-Israeli strike on a primary school because why would anyone care about that.
Ooh this should be good.
Think I might go round my neighbours and take their stuff. No reason really, I just want it. I'm stronger than them so what are they going to do anyway? PS I really like the Bible and am a Christian.
You mean man-of-the-people, public school-educated, city of London commodities trading, multi-millionaire Farage? That one?
I've brought up two kids and we've had no trouble getting them in a small car using car seats. The people driving and sat in tanks are safer but they are far more likely to kill - I don't use that word lightly - someone, especially other people's children. Sorry but I am not fine with that.

Plenty of people - me included - have argued that the level of climate concern among the public is high and higher than many think. But what does that matter if how you actually live your life pushes in the opposite direction?
Apparently it's OK to wreck the planet and endanger people's lives if you need to drive to a bus stop and transport a trumpet - yes, a trumpet. Seriously I despair sometimes...

The police as ever adopting their sledgehammer-to-crack-a-nut approach to entirely peaceful protest involving people holding small cardboard signs.

A bottle of eau de toilette in Body Shop called 'Activist'
Spotted in Body Shop. I guess it's supposed to evoke the aroma of rebellion, but more likely smells of fear, disappointment and humus.
Good to know she's tackling the Greens on the real issues, not trying to get a cheap laugh based on some half-arsed low-grade jokes.
Bill 'Not Everyone Will Die' Gates is half-right: human wellbeing should be front and centre. But that's why emissions reduction is more urgent than ever. If/when the stable climate and ecosystems we all rely on are gone, no amount of well-meaning billionaire philanthropy will ever bring them back.
Yes that sentence triggered the same reaction in me too. This is the kind of underhand, doublespeak, contradictory, bullshit rhetoric being used to gloss over the erosion of a stable climate. Neatly packed up and signed cursorily, "Department of Transport".
Predictable response to the petition against airport expansion: GrOwTH is what matters above all else (you poor misguided fools), other countries are doing it (so more wrongs make a right?) and technology will magic any environmental problems away (yeah and pigs might fly). To oblivion and beyond!
New oil & gas
~ Doesn’t cut bills: prices set by int’l markets
~ Doesn’t lower CO2: even if UK gas is 'cleaner' it's *additional to* not replacing other sources
~ Wrecks any claim to climate credentials of UK govt
~ Locks us into dirty energy & industry for years
FFS Ed Miliband stand your ground!
IF YOU EVER FEEL HEAVY BECAUSE YOU CARE DEEPLY ABOUT INJUSTICE, SUFFERING AND ECOLOGICAL DESTRUCTION. REMEMBER THAT A TRILLION DOLLAR PROPAGANDA MACHINE WAS BUILT TO MAKE YOU NUMB AND IT DIDN'T WORK ON YOU
On the off chance that members of parliament still give a flying fuck about climate science and their international climate pledges.
This should be an open and shut case to reject the application.

We’re stepping up to show the government that thousands of us are not backing down on stopping Rosebank.
Send your personal message calling for this disaster project to be stopped 👇
actionnetwork.org/forms/the-go...
It is plain to see that the enormous Rosebank oil field is not compatible with a safe climate.
Every new oil field makes the world a more dangerous place, and Rosebank alone will create more pollution than the world’s 28 lowest income countries produce in a year.
BREAKING🚨: @Equinor has resubmitted its application to open the biggest undeveloped oil field in the UK - Rosebank.
In the next weeks, the UK gov will decide to reject or approve this disaster project.
Equinor hasn’t given up, and neither will we. We’re stepping things up.
The omens not good on this - likely that the 'no new oil & gas' UK govt is going to rip open a loophole (oh this isn't *new* and we didn't mean *all* oil and gas!) and jump right through.
That said, please UK people do what you can: protest, write to your MP, whatever. Maybe we can still stop this.
"point out that North Sea oil doesn’t cut UK energy bills, and suddenly you’re censored"
This dismal government refuses to hear the truth as it prepares the way to give the green light to new oil and gas fields
Despicable and complete madness
