Is he going to jail
It was a cool moment I have to admit. I didn't know it was his ROH theme.
Please cook that fraud Tobias
1 in 3 americans have a maxed out credit card according to a report in January which kind of tells me another story why attendance is down.
Jake Mangum spots kid in the crowd, tosses the ball, and her brother catches it and gives it to her. Dudes rock.
Absolutely not at the scale that is being discussed here.
But Tony's gambles have paid off up to this point, minus the stadium show in Australia. I did not think All In Texas would have so many people and it did.
It sounds excellent to me and realistically doable, but Tony would likely have to play a financial part to help people out. It works for mania because 40-60k people are there. Forbidden door in the US gets like 12K. Are there enough people to make it profitable for the groups without a TK incentive?
what show was this ha
I selfishly wish All In would start being the spot to do that but traveling to London is not in the cards right now. Would be very fun to pull it off.
Why in the world are you deciding to watch a television show based on whether the fans are nice to you or not lol just watch or don't watch what's everyone else got to do with this
I didn't even realize they did it two years in a row in the same place ha.
Yeah I get you. I mean it is true. For example, there's guys in AEW right now who just 2 years ago would be doing 5-10 events all weekend going from show to show. Now they make enough where it is not needed.
We did NYC in 2019, went to Stardom, NJPW, even went to Mania. Mania ticket included it cost us like 2K for the whole trip. Mania tickets were like $350.
Flights and hotel alone would have probably put us at 2K this year before we even paid for events. No way I could justify the spend.
Flights are astronomical, politically TSA and travelling with ICE in the airports makes it difficult, hotel prices are astronomical right now even in Vegas. Plus everyone knows your coming so everything from lodging to food is expensive. Mania weekend used to be like a 1K mini vacation. Easy 5K now.
The Tony Khan blame for me is because the shows we used to travel to see mania weekend featured talent that are now just all in AEW. I have no desire to travel real far like I used to just to see talent that comes around 2-3 times a year anyway.
It's true, but also I don't really see myself attending any mania weekends anymore, so it is not a personal casualty for me. It is a casualty for the scene at large, unless Tony replaces it with something starting next year. We only went to the 2024 shows because we live next to Philadelphia.
we went to spring break in 2024 and it was packed but it was also packed in a catering hall lol
US indies are really stagnant right now for lots of reasons.
but how was MJ Lenderman
I don't know what you would classify as tent pole but Dragon gate, stardom, MLP, and progress were all back too.
There's only so many hours and those tentpole events take fans away from the others. When we went to Philly we avoided going to ROH because it was at the same time as multiple different events. It took 3000+ people away from the other events that could have used the boost
