I'm old enough to remember when a Labour politician endorsing assaulting and deporting a Jewish person would have received a somewhat more robust response from the press.

Starmer's lack of knowledge and curiosity is a feature, not a bug.
Maybe he just thought the moniker 'Prince of Darkness' was meant ironically.
I for one am confident that the public will respond to a shortage of some food items in a completely rational and balanced manner.

The call is definitely coming from inside the house when Reed talks about Labour's "antisemitism problem".

TBH I doubt Starmer will stand in 2029.
Much more lucrative and less personally humiliating for him to step down as PM after next month's local elections before announcing his departure from the Commons at the next election for a seat in the Lords and numerous well paid private gigs.
Oh no, I hope nobody starts a YouTube channel of video doorbell recordings.
We'll need to bring back the coal mines to give people a sense of purpose in their lives, I suppose?
Arrested on the charge of preventing war crimes.
Love the scary framing of policies to create a clean, sustainable alternative to the UK's reliance on fossil fuels as 'idealogical'.
Couldn't have happened.
Certainly not with the support of the press, as surely the shame they would feel about their role would prevent them from ever engaging in politics again.
A shame that you could not even manage to engage respectfully when replying to this reasonable request.
All the best.

The fact that you could not even manage to reply to my last post without both trying to insult me and manufacturing a fake quote to misrepresent my comments is all the answer I needed.
A shame that you are unwilling to engage maturely on such an important topic.
Take care and all the best.

If you genuinely want to have a discussion without resorting to insults or making up quotes that misrepresent my positions (as per your post directly above) then I'm happy to do so.
If not then, as I said above, this discussion serves no purpose that I can see and we should leave things here.
No worries Joe. I've said my piece and do not need to repeat myself having explained it numerous times.
Given that you seem incapable of discussing without resorting to petty insult I'll step back at this point, as per my post linked below. Take care and stay well.

I'll step back at this point, rather than continue to engage, given that you seem to prefer to throw about insults instead of discussing the subject in a mature manner, which is not the best use of either of our time.
Thanks for your contributions and all the best.
It feels as though this conversation has run its course, as we are just going in circles at this point.
I appreciate that you accepted misrepresenting my views on multiple occasions, and acknowledged that a discussion on genocide is unserious enough for you to use as an opportunity to make jokes.
Besides which, the Biden administration did nothing when Israel attacked Iran and Lebanon during their tenure, so why assume that a Harris-led Government would be stopping Israel from doing so now?
Of course they matter. But refusing to support Harris is not the same as supporting Trump.
Seeing as you started this discussion about genocide claiming my position was more about scoring points than valuing human life, it's revealing that you take regular opportunity to joke and make insults.
When you vote for a candidate you are endorsing their policy platform by giving them a mandate to apply it.
Harris has a history of supporting the Gaza genocide and did not support an arms embargo on Israel.
That is why a vote for her was endorsing the genocide of another people.
Previously you said you were choosing fewer genocides (i.e. some genocides) by voting Democrat.
You have also been saying that you have not been choosing genocides by voting Democrat.
That is the contradiction. Happy to have helped clear that up for you.
I didn't say you were choosing more genocide.
You said that you were choosing fewer genocides, which I pointed out is still choosing genocide.
Endorsing the genocide of another people for your own society's benefit is cowardice.
Sure, happy to help. I said that it is a cowardly choice for a person to endorse the genocide of another people (as the Democrats were doing) in order to make life better for their own society.
Sorry fella, you are just arguing with yourself at this point. You said that you were "choosing fewer genocides", now you are saying the opposite.
Choosing fewer genocides is still choosing genocide.
Not only are you inventing things I did not say, you are denying the things you actually did say.
Again, I guess it is easier for you to invent quotes I did not say than actually answer the point I made.
You said that it was right to "choose fewer genocides" to prevent fascism, as linked below.
Unless you are a member of the group experiencing genocide then you are endorsing this for others when voting Democrat, in order to prevent fascism for yourself.
Cowardly.

Here I am addressing the topic we are discussing.
Once again you are saying things about me that are not true, a regular occurrence in this discussion.
