just thought you should all know that an argument is ongoing in the edit history for the costume band about whether quarter tones are "microtonal" or not
That's really interesting, I always avoided psychedelics because I figured it would make my anxiety much worse than weed did.
Same, last time I tried it I had a six hour panic attack and didn't go to bed until 4am. I wonder why some of us have this reaction.
Two days down, let's get at day #3!
I showed Angine De Poitrine to one of my students who's like 10 years old. He thought it was really cool and then asked me "Do you know Voivod?" ๐คฏ
At work I have two keys. One if them unlocks the doors, the other doesn't. I've been there for five years and I STILL can't remember which is which. I need to retrieve the keys by unlocking a combination lock which is four random numbers. I have no trouble remembering them. My fucking brain, man...
A lot of stuff is only or more readily available on vinyl now. It's pretty hard to find 50s/60s Blue Notes for instance on CD at the record store compared to on vinyl. If you can find it on CD it's cheaper but good luck. Those RVG CD reissues are harder to come by than the vinyl these days.
This is the best song ever written. Period. Fight me! ๐

It's hard to fathom some weirdos from remote northern Quebec having the money or connections.
An old Maxell tape with Grant Green's Idle Moments on side A and Horace Silver's Horace-Scope on side B
Continuing my Joe Henderson kick and digging out this old tape made for me by drummer Andy Devine. You guys have some great record collections but Andy's was insane. He literally had any jazz record you could imagine. A real blessing for teenage me.

Alright, this has gone too far.
Wow:

May be his best. I tried transcribing some songs and was having trouble discerning the bass from the guitar. I contacted Mark Boston, asking him about his bass parts and he sent me the isolated tracks on CD! And honor. I still have them and I treasure them. They helped me much.
I'm such a sucker for modern HIP recordings of Renaissance vocals music and Luzzaschi is one of favourite composers in this style.
Tri-alities?
Yeah, probably don't want to concentrate those lectins or whatever!
Read this! Donald Bailey is so underappreciated. I love Sam Most but Bailey is the best part of this album.
Christ Heather, so sorry to hear that, hope you're holding up.
Here's Juniper for what it's worth.
The guided by voices lp alien lanes
The dualities of man. My current music basically sounds like a combination of these two records.
Roy Haynes forever. I'll always get anything with him on it.
major 3rd and play a major chord. But you're always moving in 3rds.
E-Gm-B-Dm
Say for example if you start on an E major chord the next chord would be a G minor chord rather than a G# minor chord. From G minor the next chord would be B major instead of Bb major. Essentially, from a major chord you go to the minor 3rd and play a minor chord. From a minor chord you go to the/
Holy moly! Is he doing alright? 97 is a hell of an age.
Oh, I love stuff that sounds like shit!

Every chord is the most distant possible from the previous one while moving in thirds so they share no common notes which is why it was surprising when using minor 11th and major 11th#4 chords that they share the exact same three notes apart from their roots. I hope that helps!
