Tim Cook's legacy will be enshittifying Apple's software, abusing their market dominance, and then playing apologist to fascism.

Under his leadership they burned billions on a car that never drove, and the only major attempt at a new product during his tenure (the Apple Vision Pro) was a total dud.

Illustration of a winter night scene with a skeletal figure confined inside a hanging cage suspended from a tree. The cage is tilted at an angle, with the skeleton visible through its bars. Below, a person in winter clothing—a coat, hat, and scarf—leans back with arms raised, appearing startled or frightened. Bare tree branches stretch across the scene, and the ground is covered in snow. The sky is dark with small scattered stars, and the overall image uses muted reds, browns, and pale tones.

On this day in 1763, Marie-Josephte Corriveau was put to death for the murder of her second husband. Her body was put on public display in a gibbet at Pointe-Lévy. A legend says that she now haunts the area. Her story has been the subject of novels, songs and plays.

The Lilac-breasted Roller is always dressed for spring. This monogamous bird mates for life, with courtship rituals that include swooping, diving, & rolling through the air. Lilac-breasted Rollers are so at home in the sky that they can breed in flight!

Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.

Opposition leader Péter Magyar at a rally.

Orbán's electoral crushing is a far greater achievement than most people outside Hungary realise.

He systemically consolidated power for 16 years, fixed the electoral map, abused govt power for political purposes & censored media.

The hurdles that Hungarians overcame for this moment were immense.
