Why am I asking my followers and friend to help me pack @yellowfund.bsky.social Mobile Resource Center?

Itโ€™s been on a big ass trip! Each of these hearts represents a community that received free diapers, period products, safer sex kits, and lunches.

Help me pack the bus! a.co/feO0YqY

As a former Fulbright Scholar (in Chile), I personally understand how terrifying this is. U.S. citizens around the world & foreign nationals in the U.S. โ€” all Fulbright Scholars โ€” have now had their incomes eliminated & are stranded.

DOGE is an illegal, criminal operation that must be shut down.

Crockett: I want to be clear about one thing. Women's issues, they are all of our issues. Because the last time I checked, we all came from a woman.

After Green interrupted last night, another Democrat should have done the same thing. And then another, until all of them had to be removed. Delay the speech by a few hours. Or walk out en masse. Anything.

Calling Trump an existential threat means nothing if you canโ€™t meet the fucking moment.

- now, attacking Democrats in this way, is what happens in failing democracies.

I've seen it throughout my work, and I want to be clear about that. This isn't just a Trump thing we can shrug about. This is very much a failing democracy sign post, and we have to call it for what it is.

It may feel weird or somehow improper to talk about your art or your writing, but we need it. It canโ€™t be wall-to-wall nightmare all the time. Art is both counterweight and context. Itโ€™s escape and enlightenment and a mirror of our own exasperation. We need it. We NEED it. Keep showing us.

I am a ROMANCE NOVELIST. I write FICTION.

I have more fidelity to historical context and background in my "let's take a break for a few hours" books than these ghouls do in their attempts to redo Dred Scott so they can rip citizenship from the arms of literal babies.

What a remarkable self-own. Itโ€™s like watching a bunch of firefighters stand around looking at a burning house, annoyed because people keep calling them about it. โ€œWhat do you want us to do? We didnโ€™t set the fire! Call the arsonist.โ€

People who are telling you that there's a lot of fraud in Medicaid are lying to you in order to try to convince you to support taking healthcare away from children on dialysis.

Because the only way to convince enough normal people to harm disabled children is by lying.

i am going to put a finer point on this: executive orders are not laws. and they certainly are not royal decrees. they are interpretations of existing law for the purposes of enforcement. the fact that so many people are treating them as laws is actually driving me a bit insane.

โ€œโ€ฆno amount of posting or passive info consumption is going to substitute the hard, unsexy work of organizingโ€

I would argue that sick & disabled folks have used social media to organize and mobilize. Some of us canโ€™t protest in the streets or meet in person but we made a difference

It was always obvious that the right-wing moral panic around universities had nothing to do with "free speech". It was about delegitimising critical & dissenting intellectual activity, with a view to suppressing it altogether. Far too many liberals were taken in by this transparent, reactionary scam

Hear me out โ€”

If parents call colleges freaked about their FAFSA data being leaked, schools may have to issue statements โ€” which would reach a whole lot more families about how warped this is.

Organizing isnโ€™t always calling electeds. Sometimes itโ€™s just calling people with a bigger megaphone.

The scale and nature of this breach is insane, but under the current regime (no congressional oversight and no law enforcement) itโ€™s unclear to me how any of the damage can be verifiably reversed.

And what got us here is โ€œthe president canโ€™t do that because the parliamentarian said soโ€*

A bit of professional disappointment that Wired beat me to it. But glad the info is out. I can confirm the key details of this report based on my own reporting -the name of the DOGE operative and that yes the reports about read only access is categorically false. Not only does Marko have full โ€ฆ

We Owe Food Regulation to a 19th-Century Chemist Who Poisoned His Colleagues The Poison Squad, as they became known, was a group of men who willingly consumed dangerous substances to force the government into consumer protections

Just a reminder that people used to put paint and formaldehyde into milk and there had to be a huge movement to get proper food regulation, and without it people will die www.eater.com/2020/1/28/21...

I think body slamming one of these DOGE guys through a table when they show up at your little part of the Department of Agriculture that weighs cows would actually have an impact
