Thanks to Eric Grote and @zachralston.bsky.social for refreshing my website's Why I'm Wrong page with defenses of THE DRAMA.

Fun fact: American tennis phenom Learner Tien is named so because his mom is a teacher. His sister is named Justice because their father is a lawyer. 🎾
I don't think I've ever read a sentence as unappealing as "Jim Caviezel is Jair Bolsonaro."
Interesting. I also read somewhere that one of the transfers reverted back to the intention with the negative while the other one tried to stay true to the tint of many of the prints from the time (like blue-ish light on the night exteriors, etc). Wasn’t sure which was which.
What are the key differences?
A packed Starbucks with long line and tons of people waiting by the mobile order station
A ghost town Starbucks with one person in line and zero people at the mobile order counter.

I’ve never even heard of this film. I thought you guys were talking about this:
I’ve never held it against QT that he heavily steals from forebears, but the lack of citation I guess is what leads to people not being familiar with this:

Today in "Trends I'm Very Glad To See Dying Out" -- men in suits who feel the need to show off their ankles by wearing skinny high-waters and no-shows.
Tom Cruise.
DTF: St. Louis might be the most depressing miniseries of all time. Crushingly sad portrait of deep loneliness and despair. Every single character. All of them. Modern suburban life as a vast wasteland of hopeless misery, masked by niceties and occasional friendship. David Harbour is astounding.

This. Truly jaw-dropping audio/visual experience. Electrifying and weirdly patriotic, which made me tear up for an era I never lived through and seems impossible today.
Screenshot of Elmo next to his pet's fishbowl in Elmo's World. The subtitles say "We. Dorothy's been thinking abou and down to what’s her daughter."
four birds in a cartoon from Sesame Street, with the caption reading "Oh, shit"
Another Sesame Street cartoon saying "Oh shit"
Screenshot of Big Bird in Hooper’s Store with live human Alan and a flying red bird. The subtitles read: "Time for the birth of terror. Me"
Do not watch Sesame Street on Tubi with the subtitles on 😭. I swear, I didn't edit or add anything. Is it hilarious? Yes, but also, they need to fix this immediately. Absolutely incomprehensible and bad
After Slate slashed the hell out of it, @alexkirshner.com and @benlindbergh.bsky.social and Lindsay Gibbs ably kept it on life support, framing sports stories in ways you just don’t hear anywhere else. I can read The Athletic, but not while driving. This was all I had. Everything good dies. :(
Been devastated for a couple days now about the demise of #HangUpAndListen, my favorite podcast. It started out as a masterpiece by @joshuablevin.bsky.social and @stefanfatsis.bsky.social and @joelanderson.bsky.social, all of whom covered sports with unparalleled nuance, illumination, and humor…
Kinda makes ENTER THE DRAGON more impressive that they did it (obviously not to the same extent but still) in 1973.
This is like that scene in GANGS OF NEW YORK just before DiCaprio and Diaz start fucking
Truly an abysmal showing all around. Was trying to think if this year set a record for lowest winning point total.
Never a doubt.
And I’m surprised you kept Yankees pluralized! A rare fail for DD.

I don’t think BlueSky is dying but I do think it‘s stagnant because there are only so many unpleasant terminally online politically hyper-engaged left of center aging millennials with personality disorders and a history of underachievement to draw from. We’re pretty much all here already.
Gomen nasai, nihon-go hanase masen
(That’s all I remember)
Keep it up! 💪🏼
I guess if you just leave it on in the background while doing other things, that defeats the purpose? Still, it's often just endless stretches of security-cam-footage with the same composition and nothing happening on screen.
I recently learned there are two unrelated third basemen named Max Muncy; both drafted by the Athletics, with the same birthday (August 25, twelve years apart). Looking forward to a Dodgers-A's game this year where third baseman Max Muncy catches a line drive off the bat of third baseman Max Muncy.

According to Wiki it’s the 10th.
