I didn't know what French Fry Gobblins were so I did some research. I think they must have been the Hamburglar's minions?

The menu which follows may be regarded as a compromise between some of the more elaborate ones and that "milk, cereal and peanut" menu of diatetic simplicity.
It is in actual use on an Ontario farm. Two meals a day are taken. The adult members of the family sustain heavy manual labor on these two. The younger members, attending school, thrive on it, and are rosy and full of life.
SUNDAY
Dinner. Baked Potatoes. Baked Beans. Whole Wheat Bread. Rice Pudding. Chocolate.
Supper. Graham Bread. Honey. Milk.
MONDAY
Dinner. Thick pea soup. Graham bread. Baked apples. Milk.
Supper. Graham Gems. Maple Syrup. Bread. Milk. Raisins.
TUESDAY
Dinner. Boiled Eggs. Baked Potatoes. Whole Wheat Bread. Milk.
Supper. Graham Bread. Stewed Apples. Corn Bread. Chocolate.
WEDNESDAY
Dinner. Boiled Beans. Potatoes. Graham Bread. Milk. Baked Apples.
Supper. Whole Wheat Bread. Maple Syrup. Dates. Milk.
THURSDAY
Dinner. Omelet. Baked Potatoes. Bread. Chocolate.
Supper. Graham Gems. Honey. Bread. Milk. Stewed Prunes.
FRIDAY
Dinner. Cheese. Bread. Rice Pudding. Milk.
Supper. Potato Cake. Graham Bread. Milk.
SATURDAY
Dinner. Boiled Eggs. Baked Potatoes. Baked Apples. Bread. Milk.
Supper. Corn Bread. Maple Syrup. Dates. Whole Wheat Bread. Chocolate.
Butter, sugar and salt are always on the table. A raw apple is frequently eaten at the beginning of a meal.

Five chefs in white jackets and chef hats stand behind a VERY sumptuous banquet table laden with 1970s style foods including molded salads and roasts, all with elaborate garnishes. There's also a fish suspended over the whole thing on the right hand side??

A fun non-old news fact: I’ve had my current phone number over ten years now, yet I still get calls for the herpetologist who used to own my phone. He seems wonderful and I hope he gets in touch with me someday. I mean, he knows my number

From the 1944 Batman comic strip, a man, maybe Bruce Wayne, in a double breasted suit and fedora and pretty well-dress woman are in a park, looking out at a lake where a swan is majestically minding its own business.
She says, "A swan- a dangerous bird? But they're so beautiul, so innocent looking-"
He cuts her off. "Innocent LOOKING. That's just the trouble! People don't know how visious [sic] they CAN BE!"

Starting in the early to mid 1920s and going through 1969 (though peaking between the early 1930s and middle 1950s), dozens of wedding announcements in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, and *nowhere else*, referred to certain women in the wedding party as "puddingsticks." E.g.:

Sausage and Bananas
Form one and one-half pounds of country sausage into cakes and roll in flour. Cut three large firm bananas in half lengthwise and dip in flour, or in egg and cracker crumbs. Fry sausage until brown, pour of nearly all the far, then put in the bananas and fry until a delicate brown. Serve on hot plater with bananas surrounding the sausage and garnish with stripes of sweet green pepper.

Sauerkraut and pineapple with mayonnaise.
Grated raw carrot and chopped apple with mayonnaise or French dressing.
Grated cheese, raw apple, with mayonnaise.
Raw cabbage and pinmento (I believe this was "pimiento" with a typo) with peanut butter rubbed into mayonnaise.
Cream cheese, orange and onion with mayonnaise.

Now a New Sandwich
In the Russian Style
HOW YOU MAKE IT
Slices of bread (as many as needed). Toast one side only. Spread untoasted side with butter. Cover with sliced uncooked, skinned tomatoes. Arrange three strips uncooked bacon across sandwich. Place thin layer of cheese on top. Sprinkle with paprika. Set in hot baking oven till bacon curls and edges are browned. Serve at once.
These sandwiches may be cut in circles for more dainty service, or the crusts may be left on and the sandwich provide a hearty course.

I call this sandwich a "Happy Waitress Special." Was the happy waitress a Russian spy this whole time?!

A new and distinctly different dish is made by standing a row of frankfurters on end around a ring of macaroni and cheese. The frankfurters are held in place by a band of slightly broiled bacon, skewered snugly. Sauerkraut substituted for the macaroni would place it among the first of smart dishes.

This isn't a sandwich but it IS unhinged. I think it's meant to be like a hot dog crown roast with either mac and cheese or kraut (!) in the middle (1933)

World's Fair Sandwich
When people name foods, babies and boats for events, those events are certain to have "clicked" and to be eminently worthwhile.
Already the Century of Progress Exposition of Chicago has had a sandwich named for it, the World's Fair Sandwich - and we are not at all worried now but the Chicago exposition will be a huge success.
The World's Fair Sandwich already has gained wide popularity, and is being served on many railroads, air lines, boat lines and in the more prominent hotels thruout the country. Undoubtedly, it will soon be a commonplace in most of our homes, and rightfully, too, because it is a splendid good sandwich. It is made on toasted or untoasted bread of a half cup of chopped bacon blended in two teaspoons of mayonnaise, and is said to go splendidly with coffee, milk or beer.
Anyway, the new sandwich is a fine advertisement for the greatest Fair ever held in this or any other country.

I absolutely love this World's Fair Sandwich from 1933. Made to drive excitement about the event of the summer, it shares the recipe while giving us a fun window into the past.

A hot apple and bacon sandwich will be found appetizing by your family or friends. Spread applesauce thickly on each of two slices of toasted bread and place slices of bacon on the applesauce. Place the sandwiches in a hot oven until the bacon is crisp.

People really were just combining bacon with everything and anything, weren't they? Bonus brussels sprout advice too. (1934)

When you are looking for a new sandwich for that particular picnic or for a Sunday night supper, mix together equal parts of cream cheese and apricot pulp made by pressing through a sieve Richelieu canned peeled Apricots, which have been well drained. Add enough Richelieu mayonnaise to make of good spreading consistency and add finely chopped nuts. Spread between thin buttered slices of bread.

SANDWICH FILLER.
Here is a new sandwich filler that will be tasty and healthy for the children's lunch - or for the older people too, for that matter. One cup puffed rice or wheat, one cup raisins, one cup dates, one cup peanuts or pecans. Put all ingredients through a food choper, and moisten with mayonnaise and spread on whole wheat or brown bread.
