I've played horrible #chess for over 2 years. My rating has gone straight down, and I even lost my "expert" ranking I've had since the mid-90s.
That's identity crisis level stuff.
This weekend, though, I gained a few rating points to land back on the 2000+ side.
White to move in my last game.
I picked up the Nuggets game at exactly the right time in the 2nd quarter. They were up by 3. A few minutes later, they're up by 24.
Murray is just unbelievable sometimes.
Great Nuggets win. They're really something this year.

I can also talk about basketball and chess.
However, when interacting IRL, I really struggle to remember words and names regularly used by humans to chat with each other.
And when that happens, I feel a noticeable glitch.

Since Wesley So resigned this position, I've been wondering why in the world he would resign as white and asking if I just don't know how to play at all. It appears to me white is the only side that can win. (Apparently, technically it's a draw.)

I've been told my online blitz #chess rating is lower than my strength.
I'm also aware it's better not to play blitz with a cat on your lap, especially when that cat is likely to jump on the keyboard if a squirrel walks by and especially even more when our neighborhood has endless squirrels.

I played an OTB #chess tournament this weekend - my first one in 6 months.
I'm getting better, but I'm getting better more slowly than the kids. My rating has dropped overall to it's lowest level ever as an adult, and I'm pretty sad about that.
I definitely need to play more.
That's great to hear! I've wanted to visit both Baja Sur / Cabo and Mexico City...and will someday!
