But I think I could get the same results using something like UcuPaint in blender ?
I think there is a free trial if you are on the fence
Mind you, I don't use a lot of features, I just use it to do my first pass of texture painting, to get the general proportions before doing cleaner work on Krita (I mean you can link it with the art program of your choice)
I think it's fine enough
Considering the price of some 3D software I think its fairly priced
Finding resources for it is tough however, and the community is kinda small
But it works pretty well overall
These take time, so please manage your expectations, also not sure how many I will do, depends on the time I have, and the kind of characters that get posted I guess

i got the effect i wanted to use to work as how i intended so here's my adeleine model in full glory!!
A redesign for my online persona, Phoebe (フィービー) They have layered dark grey hair, with purple hair tips; done in a messy half-updo bun held together by a black piece of ribbon. They have a big ahoge, and their face is framed with bangs with The Hair Vents. They have a prominent front/middle bang portion that goes up until the middle of their eyes/nose area. They have teal colored eyes, and wear light make up. They wear silver jewelry: the two pieces of clips on the right side of their face—pushing some bangs away from their eye, dangling earrings with multiple star decals, and the rose decals that can be found on their ribbon choker and vest. The cream colored blouse they wear feature shooting star patterns all across the fabric, topped with a green knif sweater vest with cream trimmings. Alongside that, they wear a short dark colored tie, with two similarly sized parts on the front and back. They also wear a pair of dark colored knit fingerless gloves. When the sleeves are pulled back, the gloves are seen to extend to their elbows. They also wear two colors of nail polish, similarly colored to their hair tips and eyes. They adorn a long dark colored flowing skirt with cream colored ruffles by the hem, with embroidery of baby blue tweedia flowers on the right side of the skirt. The skirt falls just above where their dark boots end. These boots have silver laces, and a trim across its entire sole. An additional caption at the bottom of the bust shot of Phoebe reads “ヤッホ〜‼︎フィービーだよ〜☆” This is how they would introduce themselves in Japanese, with vocabulary choices similar to a gyaru’s. Phoebe’s pronouns are they/them and あたし for reference!

Still a bit iffy about the brush work, but oh well, one step a time
Guess I'll figure things out as I go
Trying to stay within the ~3k tri range (the model is 4271 tris, 2013 just for the hair) and a 512x512px texture, but with soft hand painting instead of the usual pixel style So really I am aiming for the PS2 kind of retro aesthetic I guess

I shall (hopefuly), come back with plenty of model, even if they might be not as good as I wished them to be, so stay tuned
So, for the moment, I think I'm going to enter sort of an "Exploration Arc", where I'll try to make more models, in order to try things out, and not trying to be burdened by perfection.
I'll try to do things I enjoy, rather than focusing to have a need to improve each time
So, turns out I wasn't dead. It was a mix of being busy with commission works, and kind of an art block.
I'm not really satisfied with where my art style stands currently; as it's more of a byproduct of trying to have a fast and efficient style rather than one I enjoy
