Ashamed to admit I just recently discovered that Mojave 3 is basically Slowdive making folk songs. I slept on this band forever, am currently repeat-streaming their first album, and now learning that a reissue was released just a couple of weeks ago. Of course it's all sold out now... π€¦

I'm in western Pennsylvania. It was in the 80s and sunny yesterday. Today, there are occasional flakes flying. It's awful.
This is giving me anxiety just to look at it. Sympathies.
At this point just rename the Straight of Hormuz to SchrΓΆdinger's Straight because it's both open and closed at the same time.
Kevin Shields' presence on the last record has me itching to play this one. It's been way too long.

Understood. My daughters are 17 and 11. My wife just saw Florence and the Machine in Detroit last weekend. My oldest will see Harry Styles this summer. Meanwhile, I haven't been to a gig in well over a decade. Hopefully that will change soon-- on the lookout.
The best.
I was a member of your Now Spinning group on Facebook, but I had to call it quits because I couldn't stomach that platform anymore. If you ever reestablish a presence here, let me know!

I'm not a big Primal Scream fan, but I love every second of this record. It towers above the rest, in my opinion.

I've always loved this one. Probably my favorite song of his.
And considerably cheaper... I have been leaning more toward CDs lately, but I do appreciate vinyl.
That stinks. I haven't looked it up on there, but I imagine it's pretty collectable at this point. Great collection of songs.
Well, that is the contingency for CDs... It's the vinyl that's hitting capacity.
Ha! I figured I was missing some context and it was a rhetorical question, but I couldn't help myself. Yes, apparently they were well known. Not by me, though π
Well, I didn't participate in Record Store Day. Nothing on the list was calling out to me. My collection is also starting to max out the space I have dedicated to it, so I'm trying to be a little more discerning with my additions.
Not a massive collection, but there is plenty to listen to here.
This is great. My kids would do similar things, but they certainly didn't have the economic sense yours do π
Thanks π The irony of wearing a Sonic Youth shirt at 43 is not lost on me.
You have mastered your craft. Perhaps it's time for 10-word reviews π€
π
Thanks! It would have been easy to cheat on the "listen to on repeat" part, but I have indeed repeated this song on several occasions π

Going for a #MusicChallenge trifecta...

Low's "Over the Ocean" does the job.

This guy's early material hits me like a freight train. It's so stripped down and simple, but the songwriting is impeccable. It's mostly beautiful, but occasionally devastating. Can't praise it enough.

You snuck a 20-word review in there, too π
One of my top 10 records. Such an aesthetic.
1995 was peak civilization.
