Stevenage w/ the best 'away team performance' at the SCL this season: stopped us from playing, slowed game down when they wanted to

gave #ReadingFC a frustrating challenge which we didn't have the answer to

too tired (fatigue and tactically). glad for the international break

last two games have brought #ReadingFC back down to earth somewhat, but think we need a bit of perspective, so here's a piece on that from me

+ kudos to Noel Hunt for getting results out of an increasingly depleted side that feels like it's running on fumes atm

Here's Savage's overall touchmap from Rotherham (Thanks @simfrombucks.bsky.social)

There's no huge tweak to a 4-2 buildup structure or anything that dramatic, but clearly Hunt is moving Savage more central and encouraging more #readingfc midfield rotation

Frees Knibbs up higher up the field too

one thing i’m stuck on is this idea that “masculine” energy means license to act like a chud in public, as opposed to more traditional notions of public masculinity, such as those that put a premium on the performance of integrity, honesty, honor and generosity.

Reading 2-1 Mansfield Town: Auld Lang Ty Though Will Evans’ goal had the visitors level at the break, following Mamadi Camara’s opener, Tyler Bindon ensured a happy new year for the Royals with his second-half winner.

REPORT: If that was Tyler Bindon's final bow at #ReadingFC, then what a final bow it was.

@simfrombucks.bsky.social recaps a dogged win over Mansfield Town that meant the Royals end 2024 in the playoffs.

Short version: I'm emotionally conflicted after that game. Obv pleased #ReadingFC won, but it was a needlessly stressful way to get there (a phrase gladly pinched off @wimby.bsky.social

Long version: in the article :)

The thing I'll never get over is Zuckerberg having a legit Twitter-killer app with countless sign ups on day one and deciding: let's bury news and flood their feed with shit they don't want.

It does sometimes! You can sometimes get nuanced, in-depth videos that do really well (eg this one, my favourite YouTube video game video. Ditto his other videos). Admittedly an exception rather than the rule

Peterborough United 1-2 Reading: Player Ratings An excellent showing on the road earned Reading their second away win of the season.

RATINGS: #ReadingFC put in an excellent performance at Peterborough United (the best display of the season?) to pick up a second away win of 23/24.

@simfrombucks.bsky.social was pleased with pretty much everyone, particularly two-goal Harvey Knibbs.

The kind of fun afternoon that isn't just a joy in itself, but also such a tease for how well this awesome #ReadingFC side might do this season.

Despite Bluesky’s Rise, The Online Reading World Still Needs Twitter Many Twitter/X users have been switching over to a new social media platform recently, Bluesky, so where does that leave the old site with regards to online Reading FC discussion?

OPINION: Recently, a significant number of #ReadingFC fans have switched over to Bluesky, a new(ish) social media platform.

So is Twitter’s status as the go-to platform for online football discussion gone? Not yet, argues @simfrombucks.bsky.social

After a week or so of mostly using this place, I would say that the primary user experience improvement I notice isn’t even ‘tone’ or ‘fewer Nazis’ etc, it’s just the replies to popular messages not being crowded with shit. I had almost forgotten what that was like

I'm seeing a lot of beard-stroking about why BlueSky has taken off, but honestly, it's largely down to lucky timing: Musk started trashing Twitter, and then Trump won the election. The clever bit was making it look and feel like old Twitter.

As much as I love going to #ReadingFC games, it's also actually really nice to have a weekend off from it every now and again.

This season seems to be more draining than previous ones - fixture list has been pretty intense, and the interminably slow takeover doesn't make it any better lol. Just me?

What sort of maniacal fiend would ask you for footage of a goal against Ipswich Town? :(

Think Chem Campbell had a pretty slow start at #ReadingFC - although his work rate looked good from the off and he obv had that brace against Burton.

Picking up recently though. Goal against Stockport, three assists in his last two, and generally looking like a more reliable threat at RW.
