It also means you are more frustrated when you make dinner plans two months ago on the one day you and your friend are both available, only for them to bail at the last minute because they have ten other events that week and are burned out.

I am far from perfect at it but I find that I am more present at the things I do go to. When you have 3+ plans in a weekend you can’t be mentally there for all of them.

Something I have been working on for the past year is slowing down and being very intentional about how I spend my time and leaving breathing space to reset and recharge. Even if it means saying no to something and missing out.

One of the most frustrating things about living in NYC is every single person in your life is that friend who over books themselves all the time. This includes myself.

Twitter was never my main social media format. I keep trying to switch to Bluesky but the way it works still feels weird to me. I need to get off Meta though.
