Pathway metabolite ratios reveal distinctive glutamine metabolism in a subset of proliferating cells | Molecular Systems Biology imageimagePathway-focused metabolite ratio-based analysis of 49 tumor and 8 normal epithelial cell lines grown in their respective standard conditions reveals common and distinctive metabolic signatur...

Incredibly proud of our latest publication in @molsystbiol.org led by @nancyts.bsky.social in collab w/ Jean Yang and Lake-Ee Quek - www.embopress.org/doi/full/10....
We curated targeted metabolomic data into pathway-centric ratios and identified subclusters of cancer cells with distinct features.

Sweet success in CAR T cells - Nature Reviews Cancer Glycolysis-dependent T cell function is hindered by glucose scarcity in the tumour microenvironment. Now in Cancer Cell, Schild et al. engineered T cells to utilize fructose via GLUT5, enhancing their metabolic activity and cytotoxicity.

In @cp-cancercell.bsky.social, Schild et al. @mskcancercenter.bsky.social engineered T cells & CAR T cells to express the fructose-specific transporter GLUT5, improving T cell glycolytic flux & thus effector function in glucose-limited conditions.
