We were very excited to unanimously approve the lease for Arch and River starting this summer, in the Water Works building. I hope this becomes a neighborhood staple- be sure to try it out when they open!
Best wishes and thanks to our outgoing tenant, Owamni!

Earlier this month, Luis was abducted by ICE on his way home. Unfortunately, his daughter witnessed this. He has been released but still needs support for ongoing legal costs.

So MPD was getting calls about ICE harassing kids at schools … less than six months after Annunciation … and they just didn’t respond

Youth are my #1 priority as a park board commissioner.
When we can focus on youth as a priority, our policy will be shaped by what is good for our youngest, and most disenfranchised members of the community, elevating the next generation of Minneapolitans.
What’s good for kids is good for us!
Because Frey PACS and allies funneled huge amounts of money to the lowest voter turn out ward in the city to influence the election 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Albert, a MACC rescue, is very upset to hear this.

Again, the here are so many needs across our city that could be massively helped by $40 million. Build housing. Invest in food security. Grant rental assistance. Rebuild critical and failing infrastructure.
The MPD budget has ballooned over the past decade and we are simply not seeing results.

One of the big needs for immigrant families still is grocery support. @elitalksmpls.bsky.social and I have been feeding 40 families on a regular basis & they need another delivery. We have a $400 match if we can raise $400 to get to our goal. Can you help us?

You know what improves public safety, investing in youth!
$40 million could be spent in a myriad of ways in our city to effectuate better outcomes than this training facility. A massive investment in public housing would help our city’s outcomes for low- and no-income families. Investment in free childcare and elder care. The ideas are so numerous.
Reminder to Minnesotans who have kids whose schools have closed tomorrow: you are eligible to take Sick (or Sick and Safe Time) to care for your child

Instead of spending $1 billion a day on the War in Iran, we could use that to invest in the American people, not more endless wars.
If Mayor Frey acted on his promise to “end homelessness in 5 years” when he was first elected, these orgs maybe would have adequate resources to speak positively on “Pause evictions, save lives”.
The mayor’s inaction has ripple effects, and we know where his allegiance lies.
History will look back on the leaders of Minneapolis and what they did to stand up for our residents during and after Trump’s invasion of our city.
Dear community, please help me share Mario’s story and fundraiser.
On January 12, Mario was abducted by federal agents at his workplace. Mario has a partner and small children, who now have to carry both financial burdens and emotional trauma.

Jason’s meeting breakdowns are super helpful! Thank you, Jason, for highlighting the work accomplished in a friendly format.
As someone who started her run for Ward 5 city council… part of me wishes I would have stuck it out to try and have prevented *this* like I originally intended. E Burnett, I miss you.
Please. This is embarrassing.
video sent to me from the hennepin county government center this morning of hennepin county sheriff deputies standing by as plainclothes federal agents detain two people
agents have been hanging out in the lobby for days now
While Tom Homan was trying to grab headlines this morning ICE was again circling our schools. They’ve been out all morning and no “drawdown” is enough until every single one of these agents is out of our state and DHS is abolished.
minneapolis city council vice president jamal osman says “the people you’re calling agitators, they’re fighting for our people. they’re out there in the cold, sniffing gas, dealing with all kinds of stuff. people have lost their lives… our president calls us garbage. those people are our heroes.”
Every day Mamdani comes out and is like "hey guys, I turned off the orphan-crushing machine. Literally just had to flip a switch. Took less than 5 minutes."
After decades of dem leadership pissing and moaning and fundraising about how complex an issue it is and how difficult the process is etc
ICE continues to separate children from their parents in Powderhorn Park. Alex was kidnapped by ICE on his way to work. Let’s reunite him with his son & family.
Luz has been a strong advocate for our immigrant community in MN and now her son has to grow up without his father.

Help support Northeast Middle School families struggling due to this illegal ICE occupation. Your community support is providing immediate help for families.
I will keep pushing for an eviction moratorium, rental assistance, small business support, and more from government.
